Pretty Days Outside

The weather here has been absolutely beautiful and exactly what people describe as the perfect spring. Highs in the 60's and pretty blue skies. We dress in layers and head outside as often as possible.

This season has been quite different compared to the record breaking snowfall we encountered last year just after moving here. We were in shock! This year has been lovely with still plenty of snow, but it comes and goes quickly.

A few pictures from a walk this week with the 3 kiddos.

Carter really prefers to ride his bike, but since we're replacing flat tires on a weekly basis, it's hard to keep up. The razor scooter is still a favorite and was a great gift given to him years ago.

We walked to the playground down the street.

Carter - just about the best big brother in the world - helps little Jack.

A small break from Jack and time for himself.

Carter took the camera for a while.

On one of our bike trails. Jack would walk or ride all day long.

The Bumbo Chair

Since buying it for Jack not so long ago, we've been uncertain about the advantages of the unique Bumbo chair. Seems as though everyone is trying it, but we're not entirely sure about how needed it really is.

Other than the novelty of seeing our little ones sit before they're able, our babies haven't had much interest. I know some people swear by and can't live without it. Feeding on the go and occupying the kiddo are both reasons friends have liked them.

So, instead of letting our $40 (entirely overpriced in my opinion) investment go to waste, I sunk another $10 into it to see if the Bumbo tray table adds to its appeal. The verdict is still out in this household.

Thus far, it has only launched Jack into a fury of proving that he can take the tray off and that anything on top of it is rightfully his.

Carter insists on being present for any new item in the house and he asked to pose for a picture.

He looks sweet here....but swiftly stole the chick leaving Lainey confused.

More Help Than I Knew I Needed

Jack wants to help anywhere and everywhere these days. Laundry, dishes, cooking dinner, cleaning up....basically, if I'm doing something, Jack is there helping.

Here he is at the refrigerator. He sees me fill in Carter's reading chart each night, just above the lunch menu, and tries to mimic my actions.

Sunday Evening Walk

The weather here has been mild and warm enough for some walks outside recently. We took Jack's Push and Go Buggy out for a spin for the first time since Santa delivered it and he absolutely loved it.

A large open park is just around the corner from us...where the fountain park is located....and there is plenty of room for the boys to run, play ball, etc.

Precious Lainey attached to Mama.....watching the boys run wild.

Beaver Creek With Jill

We drove out to Beaver Creek on Saturday to ski and visit with my good friend, Jill, from college. She and I met years and years ago....more than it seems like....at LSU. We lived in dorms adjacent to each other as freshmen and have kept in touch since. She is a dear friend and it's wonderful to see her each time our paths cross.

Here is Jack beckoning me to let him ice-skate.

While the boys ski, the little ones walk the village with me to see what we can find. A fountain! Very exciting for a nearly 22 month old.

It snowed all morning, so we took cover here and there to thaw out while walking. Jack doesn't care. He just wanted to skate.

Window shopping.

Waiting for lunch.

Dad and the boys.

Loving baby sister.

Jill arrives and we were thrilled!

Lovely Beaver Creek.

LOTS of snow that day which made for great ski conditions.

Carter heading down.

Jill and Carter.

Jill is pretty rough with Carter. Here she is tackling him in the snow.

Inside...playing with Jack.

Once 4:00 hits, it's smarter to hang around the resort and avoid the big rush to get out on the roads. We always find something to do....at Beaver Creek, it's McCoy's, a huge restaurant at the bottom of the lifts.

Shannon Tanner was playing music again. We've seen him several times. He's a ton of fun and was quite amused when Carter went up to request a "Right Spread Panic" (Widespread Panic) song.

He told Shannon that his friend, Jill, had a tattoo on her back. Here is Shannon announcing it to the entire crowd. Jill turned bright red. Kids!

Back outside for some fun.

The boys did the bungee jumper and they allowed Jack to do a milder version than the bigger kids. He was hysterical with laughter.

Carter's turn.

Almost time to go. Here she is antagonizing Carter again....he loved it!
