Great question...since we only have a 4 1/2 year old, and a 7 month old I can't say that I have done anything I swore I wouldn't do. BUT I do know something I will do that my mom didn't - I will make myself available for our kids to talk about the important stuff happening in their lives. And help them solve their problems rather than ignoring them. I CAN give that to my children, something I didn't have.

I swore I would follow through when it came to saying no or giving out a punishment! My mom was queen of letting it go. I alway knew when I was grounded it would never be for as long as they said.

Now... one tear from my girl and that it is, I can't follow through. I better get better at this before we hit the teenage years! I know what I got away with!

I also swore I would never say... Don't make me come over there. I thought that was such a crazy thing to say to your kids. Looks who says it then walks!!

I know there has to be more, but I can't think of them at the moment.

Oh... and I've been meaning to tell you. I'm not that techy! My husband is VERY techy, which in turns make me semi-techy!

Things I claimed/claim I would/will never do:

1. Wear tapered polyester slacks with an elastic waistband

2. Wear sweatshirts with birds, flower bouquets or wildlife on them

3. Wear holiday sweaters for real (I will wear them as a joke)

Oh my gosh, where do I start! Growing up I was never going to get married because then I would have to share my money. I was also not going to have kids.

Look at me know. I am married with four children and I am a stay-at-home mother. Therefore, I depend on my husband to support us.

When you are young, anything seems possible. But, looking back, I wouldn't change a thing.

I also try really hard not to say I'll never..
However- I thought I would never say 'because I said so' and I often find myself with no other reason except 'because I said so' and now that I am a parent, sometimes that is the answer. I am with Malinda on the picky eater. I didn't want one, but I have one.
I did say, before I married that we will never go to bed angry and now I have learned sometimes you need to go to bed angry so you will not be angry any more.
There have to more, but that is it for me at the moment.

I swore I'd never throw my arm/hand out to my passengers in the car if I slammed on my breaks and I do it all of the time. I never really swore I'd not do something my mama did. I did say I'd spend more time with my kid and that I have done. I did say I'd care more about what he's into and how schools going and I did that. We all share the chores around here where at home it didn't work that way. So not to bad.

I remember telling my mom I would NEVER make my kids pick up the dog's poo in the backyard or empty the dishwasher. I still plan not to. I hated both of those chores. (I make our lawn people do the poop. Still don't think I should do it.)
Although, both Tone's girls have chores around here. Otherwise it falls on me! I didn't realize as a kid that my mom was having us help so she didn't rip her hair out.
