The Calm Before The Storm

Now the forecast includes 10-18" of snow. This is insane. Can't wait to see what tomorrow brings!

A few photos of the clouds rolling in.

Blizzard?!

It looks like we're going to have our first taste of a big snow tonight. Weather reports indicate cities southeast of Denver and above 6,000 feet elevation (that's us) are under a "blizzard warning" through tomorrow morning. 3-13" inches of snow expected and 25-35 mile per hour winds.

So, needless to say....like any good native Texan.....I'm going to the store today to stock up on food and supplies that should last us through January. And, Blake is not allowed to drive anywhere past noon today. For those of you who have not been told, Blake slid off the highway and into a guard rail on his first attempt to drive through inclement weather. Minor damage to the car.....way more done to his pride....and our checkbook, of course.

Bike Ridin' Fool

Carter has been on his bike more in the 4 short weeks we've been in Colorado than in the almost 6 years we spent in Texas. The neighborhood boys seem to live on them and Carter has followed right along. Here he is on his new bike. Looks pretty tough, don't you think?

An Unintentional View

Minus the telephone poles, the view of Pikes Peak each morning reminds us of how lucky we are to live near the mountains. You can see it from the back of our house and it's beautiful, covered with snow. I'm sure this fascination will wear off eventually, but we're loving it now!

Dinner Time

Here is what happens when you forget to put a bib on Baby Jack....
