A Day In Boulder

We had lots of fun in Boulder on Sunday with Steve and Terri. The weather was perfect, we had good shopping and the kids enjoyed being outside. We started on Pearl Street, shopped a bit and then ate lunch.

Nice hat Carter acquired from the balloon man. Subtle as always.

A stop at the playground.

Jack with Daddy and then Pa.

Lunch time! Jack enjoyed some sopapillas with ice cream and candles to blow out while the waiters sang "Happy Birthday".

Playground visit by the river.

She loves her baby doll.

The hat again!

Loving the slide.

63 Things

Just when I think I've got a good grasp on what I'm doing for fun with my kids.....this list arrives in my inbox and I feel very far behind!

My sweet friend, Meredith, sent me this list via email and I looked up the link on-line. It's really, really good. Take a look and be sure to read each one. Be careful, though. #60 is what landed Jack in the ER.

Now, if you'll excuse me, I've got some planning to do!

Train Table

Everyone enjoying Jack's new gift...

Conversation

Overheard, I'm sure, by our pediatrician while waiting for Jack's 2 year old check up this morning.

Casey - "You look cute today, Blake. Would you like for me to get you some non-socks for those shoes? Because they're leather and you're not wearing socks, they're going to stink."

Blake - "Non-socks? Are you kidding me?"

Casey - "No one can see them. Hence the word, 'non'."

Blake - "But what if I get in a car accident?"

Casey - "What do you mean?"

Blake - "What if I get into a car accident and my shoes fly off and I'm photographed wearing non-socks? Forget the bloddy massacre or tragedy involved. I'm worried about the socks."

Jack's 2nd Birthday Party

Jack's party was a ton of fun and despite my camera not cooperating and providing an inconcistent flash....I managed to capture a few good moments. We actually had a full house and kids were constantly on the go....the girls doing crafts and the boys chasing coyotes outside. I was too discouraged to keep taking pictures due to my current one's poor performance. Time to buy a new one!

Belinda organized the purchase of this train table and it was loved immensely by Jack. Each guest pitched in money to buy it for him. So, so much to do and he will love it for years.

Daddy putting together the Cozy Coupe from Pa and Mae Mae.

AnnMarie and Lainey....our baby girl sitting up now!

Jack unwrapping train after train wrapped by Belinda.. There must be over 50 of them! He wouldn't keep at it, though. He would unwrap a few trains and immediately run back to the table to see how they worked. We finally finished unwrapping them all this morning.

When it came to cake time, Blake solidified his task-never-to-be-given-to-him-again. He dropped the entire 24 cupcake cake on his foot.

Luckily, a grocery store down the street had a stand-in and we added the train from the original cake....and all was well.

Sweet boy checking out the choo choo while everyone sang.

Birthday Boy

Our precious middle child turns 2 on Sunday. Hard to believe. I know it's cliche, but they really do grow up quickly. These past 2 years since his birth and Lainey's, our move to Colorado, travel and a new home....have all been a whirlwind. We're finally settled, though, and Jack is growing up into a sweet little boy and we couldn't love him more. His fascination with trains, his detest for his sister, never ending "Hi's!", his running full speed laughing hysterically to greet us as we re-enter his world.....it's all such a blessing to be a part of.

Not much time to post this weekend, as we have Pa and Mae Mae arriving tomorrow, the party that evening and then more fun on Sunday. Back next week. Take care!

Ski Town

Love this sign.

Retired for the season.

Way up there.

Trust.

Going up.

Just after taking this picture, 2 guys went under the rope and I'm sure, had a great time skiing down.

Drumroll, Please

I don't typically post home improvements or specifics about our house, but I think Blake would be heartbroken if I did not show off his hard work. So, here is the playhouse!

It's not completely finished. Still needing a rock border and a sidewalk...but there will be time for that.

We brought Jack out to see it and it was hard to get a good picture of him due to his excitement and need to look at everything!

He loves it. Blake's dedication certainly paid off.

Breckenridge, One Last Time

A few pictures from last weekend's ski trip.

Always time to play in the snow.

Signs of spring.....the melting snow on the side of the mountain.

Jack learned how to use Blake's Ipod to look at pictures and he loved it!

I typically choose one of a few similar shots if we have them, but couldn't decide which was my favorite of Lainey and Daddy. So, here they all are.
