Memorial Day Weekend

We started on Thursday with a trip to Disney.

Short lines made it an awesome visit!

Little Mermaid was a must after seeing the play recently.

No fear.

We headed out of town to a resort in San Diego.....also a new favorite.  Fabulous with 3 pools and lots of room to wander with the kids.

Played baseball for hours in the grass nearby.

We think Jack grew gills because he spent so much time in the water.  Poor guy currently has bruises on his face from wearing goggles so long and blisters on his toes from the flippers.  :(

Felt like Mexico.....everything spread out into a little village.

Kids were thrown across the pool.

It was super fun.

On Tuesday, we returned to school and I took pictures of our Kindergartners, as I did at the beginning of the year.....to see how much they've grown.  

Sweet little ones.  Almost ready to graduate.

Off to school now for some more volunteering.  Carter has allowed me to spend some time at the middle school next week, pending good behavior. 

No hugs and no weird socks.

The Starnes children are well traveled.  I know this because we recently added a map to track our adventures.  You cannot see them here, but there are many a pin all over the U.S.  Kids loved seeing these and talking about our trips.

We are ready for summer and more fun ahead!

Weekend Scoop

The days are flying by right now.  10 until summer!

Kids helped peel the paper off last Sunday.  We baked them and passed them out this past weekend.

Saw The Little Mermaid at Young Actors' Theatre in Spring Valley over the weekend.  Loved it!  Carter was even pleasantly surprised.

Sweet Maggie Beau turned 1 recently and we celebrated with Kelly and fam at Liberty Park in San Diego.  Beautiful weather and great people!

Cousin Lance was in town, too.  So fun seeing family!

We walked down by the San Diego Bay.  Mama ducks guarded their babies.

Blake found this super cool bike for me on Craigslist.  I'm totally in love.  Lots more bike rides in our future!

And, finally, this first grader started his last homework packet yesterday.  He's an excellent student.....a very strong speller like his big brother......a whiz at math.......and is reading like a pro.

Life is moving too fast. 

Busy days ahead with some volunteering at school and summer preparations.

Bike Week

Starnes family represent! 

Rode bikes with the kids to school today.   They were so excited!

We have been practicing for the past week.  Riding and locking up our bikes.

To the patio furniture, mainly.  :)

This morning, it was time for the big ride!

Carter ran with us.

We stopped for snails.

And, admired the pretty views in the distance.

"Even, wook at dis, Mom.  My shoes match my bike!"

"I mean, Mom.  I was so freaked out.  I fought this was Aunt Donna's house.  It looks just like it with a pool in the back."

Aunt Donna lives in Orange County.  :)

Sweet big brother helped Lainey with hers.

With the exception of some break issues, it was a successful ride.

Except for a small cut on Lainey's hand.  Of course, we ended up in the nurse's office.

Got her to her Kindergarten class and returned to find Jack ready for 1st grade.....pencil above his ear.
