Summer Time Exploring

We've been spending lots of time at the beach, either in our hometown or exploring other parts of SoCal.

First up, Harbor Beach in Oceanside.

Carter brought and friend and they spent most of the day playing Frisbee. Jack and Lainey are perfecting their boogie boarding.

We spent another week out exploring Los Angeles.

Stopped en route at Bull Taco in San Clemente.

Went to the Hollywood Highland shopping center.

Saw the Grauman's Chinese TCL Theatre.

Carter bought himself some goodies. He loves to have his own spending money.

James Franco? Found him.

Saw the Hollywood sign from in town and then at the Griffith Park Observatory.

Spent some time dreaming of boats in the harbor at Channel Islands.

And, we saw lots of Santa Barbara. Such a beautiful place.

In our 15th year together.

En route back home, we took the Pacific Coast Highway through L.A. beach towns. The Biggest Loser was filming.

Ate lunch in Malibu. Yummy fish and chips!

And, now we do final preparations for our big Disney World and Key West trip. Just a week away!

Summer Update

Lots to catch up on!

Here we go.

We've had 2 summer movie nights already. Such a hit with the neighbors. Blake does all the work and it's not an easy project.

My sweet Aunt Mary was in town recently, so we got to spend the day with her on Coronado Island.

I'm so, so fortunate to have her in our lives.

We spent 5 days traveling last week and stayed in 4 different hotels, touring Southern California. Santa Clarita, Marina Del Rey, Calabasas and Riverside.

Visited the Santa Monica Pier that you've probably seen in movies a dozen times.

We kayayed in Marina Del Rey.

Ate dinner one night at Tio's Tacos, a quirky little place in Riverside.

On the way home, we stopped by Tom's Farm.

Blake bought me an Astro Pop. He was in line buying one nearly 30 years ago when we met for the first time.

Kids finally wrapped up a long baseball season with Closing Ceremonies.

We visited the zoo with Kelly and kids this week. Going to miss them so much when they move to Denver in a few weeks.

My perfect, precious Godson, Behr.

Father's Day included a parish picnic at church and then a lazy day at home.

Yesterday, I ruined summer buy signing everyone up for a Summer Reading Program at the local library.

They act miserable. And, since we left, Jack has read one book and Lainey, five.

We're all things Disney right now with 18 days until our trip.

It's nearly here!
