Chuck E Cheese's

Last week, the boys and I met Debbie and kids at Chuck E Cheese's for dinner and playing.

Besides a trip with Belinda while I was sick in the spring, Jack had never really been....except when he was a baby and we met the Rands there occasionally while still living in Texas. So, Jack was everywhere and was beside himself with excitement.

Devon and Carter.

Poor Jack trying so hard to get Emily to give him any sort of positive attention.....

But, clearly she still has no interest in him!!!

This is the only picture I managed to get of Lindsey. The big kids were on their own most of the time.

90,000 Diapers?!

Check out this article on an Arkansas family who just welcomed their 17th child. Makes me feel a little less exhausted.

New Roles Update

Blake asked me this morning how long he's been a "SAHD" (stay at home dad, for those of you not on baby message boards). 3 weeks? 4? Is it time for the baby to arrive yet?

No, Blake...it's been 4 days....and really only 3 since he asked early this morning. This new role is a challenge for him and for all of us. He's handling things beautifully, but it will take some adjusting. After doing both, I insist that staying home with kids is more difficult than working outside of the home. No doubt about it!

We're working on a routine and I've encouraged Blake to get the kids out of the house at least once a day, as that is what they're accustomed to and it also helps the day go by faster. Plus, if we were to spend the next 5 weeks in this house together, with Carter CONSTANTLY wanting something to eat and Jack chasing Batman and then crying because he got bit, not one of us would survive this period in our lives.

I think the boys are heading to Elitch's tonight...which means I have a date with a Blockbuster movie. I think we'll all be happy and content. Wish us luck!

Sleepover

Before our lives changed so drastically, we invited Paeton and Gavin....Carter's old buddies from Castle Rock....to attend Carter's First Sleepover on Friday night. Both boys were planning on coming, but Paeton got sick, so we ended up with just Gavin.

It was a fun night. Blake did most of the work and so it was easy on me...although I had forgotten about the sheer noise and chaos that a sleepover brings. Perhaps this is what started all of my contractions?! :)

We made pizzas that evening...

Baby Jack trying to hang out and be one of the guys.

The boys before bedtime. They were actually asleep by 10:30, which is pretty good from what I remember about sleepover standards. Blake slept next to them on the couch....because all of our bedrooms are upstairs and we didn't like the idea of the boys alone on one floor. Unfortunately, he woke to both of them shooting him with toy guns.

Before heading to the donut shop that morning. Who doesn't dress like this on their way to grab breakfast?

The world's largest bear claw, which fascinated Carter and Gavin.

Pink!

Since our recent baby news and the possibility of her arriving earlier than expected, Blake has taken on the remaining projects so that we can be prepared, no matter when the little one arrives. Most of her nursery is in place. We just need to paint, hang her canopy and add the wall decor. Hopefully, it will be done tomorrow!

Getting started with the boys' help.

Give me that brush!

First coat in place. It's a true cotton candy pink!
