Disneyland.....Coming to a You Tube Channel Soon Enough

It was bad. Not the entire day, but the beginning.

There was a tantrum. And, not of the normal variety. Upon saddling up and entering Main Street, Lainey lost her little 3 year old mind and threw a fit worthy of a complete stranger (or 12) videoing it with her phone.

And, while I would not like to re-live those 10 minutes of my life, I would like to know who cried first.

Lainey or me.

It was bad, yall. I refused to allow LC to use Jack's stroller seat for her kitties, and, all hell broke loose. For the record, I'm typically quite tolerant of her feline nurturing side. I load up the 'burb 20 minutes early so she can secure all of her kitties......put them in seat belts....cover them and pass out snacks as needed......etc, etc. But, I will not condone her shunning Jack in order to keep up this routine.

How dare I, right?

I dared. Caroline stood there with her head spinning wondering what on earth she could do to help and then once she noticed the woman RECORDING my nightmare, she stepped in front to block the footage. My sister has my back. I finally managed to buckle Lainey down and stormed through the crowds and out of sight eventually.

We know how to make an entrance, no?

And, all because of this precious, darling girl. Hard to believe.

Moving on.

We tried out a "new" ride......new to us......Peter Pan. Super cool. Carter and Caroline anxiously awaiting.....

We cruised around the park for a good portion of the day and then found the Rand family. Alisha doesn't know it, but I took this picture on the Toon Town Coaster.

So great seeing them and in such a fun venue!

Jack and Haylee....

Caroline ran into her principal at the park, who informed us of her students......all the way from Texas......performing at Disneyland that day. Small world.

Snapped a quick picture.

Lainey has a new BFF. Grace. They are so cute together.

Kiddos. Such a motley crew.

Ran into Mary Poppins and Bert. Upon signing the book, Mary was searching for "Carter" who signed the princess book several times before her. She wanted to have a word with him.

LC led our group. In more ways than one.

Caroline sat down with the kids for dinner and then treated them to Mickey shaped beignets in our favorite restaurant, The French Market.

An attempt at a group pic.......the Starnes fam + the Rand fam. Jack slid out of the picture just in time. Turkey.

Haunted Mansion! Caroline and the punks acting scared.....

My sweet Carolines.

Bryan braved the tea cups with the kids.

Haylee and Laine.

Buzz Lightyear!

Saw Mickey on the way out.

The tram ride back to the car. There's Lainey, still taking care of her kitties. Such a good mama.

We're exhausted today. Just a few things on the agenda - with kids in school - and then dinner tonight with Alisha and family. Loving Spring Break!

Caroline + Friends + Averills + Point Loma

She's in town and we're having a great time!

You might remember that her last trip to San Diego included a visit to the See's Candy Shop in the airport. Becoming a tradition.

Caroline arrived packed to the gills with gifts. Spoiling the little punks!

Love this new apron top for Laine. So cute.

Sugar from Jack. Not a common occurrence.

Went to visit Holly and fam at their house near the harbor. Fantastic views!

Carter and Ainsley. She's getting big.

Sweet girls.

We're surrounded by a bunch of crazies, Holly included. Of course, this is why we get along so well. Coco, recognize that shirt Nicholas is wearing?

Umh......not sure about this group.

Punkin Jack. It doesn't fit.

Met the Averills for lunch at Ruby's in Carlsbad. Chaotic and fun.

Lainey loves Uncle Bob. Here she is flirting with him. We'll cover the family tree eventually.

Took off from there and headed to Point Loma. My cousin, Cam, called me a full time tourist upon leaving. Little does he know what a compliment I consider that.

San Diego is in full bloom. It can't get any prettier. This picture doesn't do this color justice......absolutely gorgeous flowers on the side of the highway. Looks like a flourescent pink blanket. They're everywhere.

Nice.

The Cabrillo National Monument. Very cool.

Tidepools in close range.

Lainey's a delight these days. Stay tuned for the best picture ever of her brattiness.

Thank you, strange man, in the background.

Absolutely beautiful part of San Diego.

From this point, you can see 360 degree views. Mexico, included! Yes, we're that far south.

National Cemetery........beautiful.

Lainey showed JoJo the sights.

Haunted Light House. We'll go back for this part of the tour. Left in time to cook out dinner and get a good night sleep for Disneyland tomorrow! The Rand fam is going, too. Can't wait to see them!

San Diego Bay. I love living here.

More later as time allows. Hope yall had a great weekend!

Our Kids Are Weird Part 3,512 + Plans For Caroline's Visit

Seriously. I don't understand many things about our children, but the latest has me completely dumbfounded.

Lainey has developed a love of all things cold. Not food or weather.....but her lovies, instead. We constantly find odd things in the fridge and now they're moving to the freezer.

That's Lainey Kitty right there, crawling into the Uncrustables box.

What. The. Hell.

Moving on.

Caroline arrives tomorrow! We have been preparing all week. Stocked up on vodka and Twinkies because in light of her recent medical advances (no more dialysis and a change in heart meds!), we're going to be celebrating. With class, of course.

On the agenda:

*Lunch with California fam.
*Point Loma visit.
*Disneyland.
*Jay Leno show in Burbank with Matthew McConaughey as the guest!!!!!
*Disneyland, again.
*Zoo.
*Carlsbad Flower Fields.
*Day trip to Santa Monica.
*Lunch with my boss (totally not a meany....it will be fun).
*Lots of gossip and making fun of our kids.

OK, so we may not get to all of that, but definitely the last one.

For now, I'm off to Preschool to help with the little ones. Share day, Letter R! Gonna get pretty crazy.

Yall send some good luck our way. Carter advanced to the final round of his Spelling Bee. The whole fam is headed up to the school this evening for a Spaghetti Dinner and to watch our nerdy kiddo spell! He missed "cachet" last time, but got "frugal". Wicked smart, I tell ya.

Later!

Maybe They're Not The Little Geniuses I've Made Them Out To Be In My Head?

What other explanation is there behind taking this many photos........

To finally be rewarded with this one? Wouldn't smart kids smile the first time so we can play on the beach?

San Diego Crush

OK, I finally published it. A list of our favorites in San Diego. Jann, Cindy, Alisha, etc.......and those traveling here eventually.......enjoy! Let me know what I failed to include.

I'll be updating as needed.
