Halloween Night

Halloween night brought temperatures in the 20's, so needless to say, we bundled up and tried to stay warm!

The boys in costume.

Jack is wearing the same costume that each of the kids in my family wore on his first Halloween. Carter also wore it on his first.

Carter, as a knight, with Batman the kitten.

Jack sitting in his treat bag.

And, after falling over, he seemed content just laying there.

The knight with his pumpkin, waiting anxiously to trick-or-treat.

Caroline and I, always attempting to annoy Carter, wore dog ears and whiskers.

The fam before heading out.

My mom bought this outfit for Jack the day of Halloween. We thought it would keep him warm in the chilly temperatures. It did!

Spooky neighbors.

Carter trick-or-treating...and taking every opportunity to walk through snow.

Trick-or-Treating in Castle Rock

Downtown Castle Rock hosted day time trick-or-treating on Halloween. It was great for us to be able to walk around and see the local businesses....all the while, the kids gathering candy. We found some great shops to return to.

Both boys.

Birthday Cake

Here is sweet Carter with his Halloween themed birthday cake from my mom on Monday. We celebrated his 6th birthday while everyone was in town (hence, the cat addition). Don't worry....we will not have another cake until the child actually turns 6.

Airforce Academy

We drove to Colorado Springs on Monday to check out the Airforce Academy. It is quite impressive to say the least.

The walk to the chapel on campus.

The very beautiful church, designed to imitate airplanes.

The organ upstairs.

A view from the back. The colors are even more spectacular than seen here.

The side of the chapel where you can look through to see mountains.

The Catholic part downstairs.

Roll of Honor wall, honoring those who graduated from the academy and died in combat.

Main part of the grounds.

A bit further out, by the highway.

Six Flags Elitch Gardens

On Sunday, we all went to Six Flags Elitch Gardens in Denver. It's a cool park with a water park connected to it (open seasonally, of course). It doesn't have the same memory-filled feel that the one in Texas does, but hopefully we'll grow to love it as we did the last.

Everyone with their just purchased season passes....we'll be back!

Just outside.

Jack playing around while everyone rode the ferris wheel.

Close up of the baby boy, now 6 months old.

The fam with Carter visibly upset because we wouldn't ride the same few rides he liked over and over again.

Even when he's upset, he seems to remain adorable.

Trick-or-treating.

Blake rode this one!

Carter and Caroline getting down at the dance machine.

This park is very dark and weird during Fright Fest. We encountered this display on the way to ride Twister II, an old fashioned wooden roller coaster.

Caroline and me on the roller coaster and feeling as though we were about to end up like the skeleton display. It was old and rickety!

Crazy Blake and Caroline on the orbit ride that shoots them up into the sky. Neither of them look totally sure about what they're doing!

They made it through it, though.

On our way out....baby Jack all bundled up.
