Randoms

So, everyone loved Nie Nie on Oprah. I've heard nothing but rave reviews of her, Christian, their outlook and perception of life. Happy to hear it. And, I'll take your word for it because Blake screwed up the recording on our DVR and I was greeted with a murder story upon cozying up to watch this show I'd been waiting for. Bitter? Naaah....

*****note - I understand Nie Nie was at the end.....but for some reason, our DVR did not catch it. I fast forwarded! It has done this before.....it cuts shows off.....so annoying. But, Shannon to the rescue.....she sent it to me!

Moving on.

I did watch The Office wedding and it was fantastic.

I laughed.

I cried.

Kevin stole the spotlight a few times. Dwight (known for brushing his teeth with butter and clay) hooking up with a dental hygienist was awesome. Also liked his wolf shirt. Loved the venue. Michael delivered, as always. Pam and Jim were so sweet.....and funny......and thoughtful....and perfect. Just how I like them.

I should have seen it coming, but did not.....the dance.....so well done. Another brilliant episode!

And, in some unrelated, random news, one of my all time faves is making a comeback. That's right, people. Babystyle was bought and is returning! Details here. Let's hope they get it right...as they had it before. Exactly like before.

And, the tights! You can find them here. Just ignore the fact that I spent $.39 on them.

Fall Favorites 2009

What's next? Hmmmm....what can I include that won't elicit clever comments from Shannon?

OK, this seems safe enough. Time will tell!

I love dressing the kids in Halloween gear. Lainey currently has more options than days in October, so each morning is fun getting her dressed.

She started yesterday in this outfit.....an Old Navy shirt I bought for $1 at the end of last season (note: if you do this, avoid those with their annoying "Old Navy 2008" logo). Denim mini, leggings and boots. Halloween chic. The darling Life is Good shirt landed here yesterday, compliments of Mae Mae.

These two keep me laughing all day long.

So, we went on a walk to look at the fall leaves in our neighborhood. More on that later, but check out this beauty for now. Pretty sure if you watch long enough you'll see the leaves actually changing colors. Have I mentioned how much we love living here?

So, on our walk, we ran into some dog poop and I pointed it out to the children, requesting they steer clear. And, of course, Lainey walked right up to it and SPLAT. Boots were dirty. Time for a wardrobe change.

Jack's skeleton shirt from last year and my all time favorite - witch striped leggings. Funky and fun.

Look at her winding up for that massive jump.

My silly punkins.

We were outside of church for these pics......on the Wednesday night shuffle.....so Carter was not available. Can't wait to put him in some fun gear and take pics at the pumpkin patch. Weather permitting, we'll be there this weekend.

And, guess what? The best is yet to come. Mae Mae sent Lainey the cutest-ever Halloween tunic I am anxious to put on her.

Stay tuned. This is getting good, folks.

Ross And Rachel Are Dead To Me

And, I really loved them. The kiss....still remember the kiss after she finds out he came to take her to prom, uninvited.

But, now? It's all Pam and Jim. They are so, so precious. Check out this 30 second clip here if you don't believe me. I have yet to make it through without tearing up.

One hour episode Thursday evening. I cannot wait!

Finally, A Reason To Learn How To Use My DVR

I kid, of course. Blake scheduled it for me.

While I'm shuffling Carter from school to church to soccer, Nie Nie will be on Oprah today. An article from Oprah.com can be found here. I found it fascinating to learn about her "choice" as she describes it.

And, if you live under a rock or are new to the blogging world, Stepha"nie" started writing online in 2005 about her life as a young mother of 4 children. Her blog can be found here.

In August of 2008, she and her darling husband, Christian, were in a horrible plane crash. The pilot died. Christian broke his back and ankle and suffered burns on his face and neck. Stephanie's body was 83% burned. My heart breaks thinking of that reality alone.

Now, factor in their 4 children not wanting to look at her or touch her. Poor babies must have been so confused.

The Today Show did a segment on her a while back that summarizes the events, including the care of her children while she and Christian recovered initially. That can be found here. The outreach of help and support make me proud to be part of this weird little blogging world we live in. Which isn't so "little" anymore, is it?

She's back to writing and cooking again and recently posted a photo of herself after the crash - a very brave act. Such an amazing story....tune in if you have the time. If you don't, take a moment to pray for them.

Fall Favorites 2009

Oh, how I love to dress for fall. Such lovely options. Let's ponder a few, shall we?

Scarves. I can never have enough. Also love to give them as gifts. Because you, too, can never have enough.

Standard stay-at-home mom uniform during cold months for me? Yoga pants, long sleeve t, and a cute scarf.

And, vests. I have this one very one (that's not me, though):

Living in Colorado required some nice cold weather gear, so we made some investments into the fabulous North Face company and acquired a lovely collection of quality layers. I adore this vest and soon you'll see it on me often - if I ever post another picture of myself, that is. Seems like it's been forever.

I want this fleece one, too....exactly like this....in chocolate brown. How cute would I be in it?

I've got a healthy dose of granola in me, so these Keen boots were purchased last winter. I love them. And, once the temps drop another 20 degrees, they are all I will wear.

And, hats. This was my staple last year. See, outside of the south, they are actually useful and not just a cute accessory. Love this one. Need a new version for this year, though.

Kids are already in on the fun. Blake took the following pics at the soccer games over the weekend. Love how he put Jack's old vest on Lainey and found his new one for him. (Notice the trademark double pony, too).

And, boots for Laine. She already has 4 pair. Of course, I bought them last year at a super discount. The ones here cost me $3.

You would have never known.

Also, on deck......some sleek black Kenneth Cole dress up boots, some Aspen-esque embroidered ones and a darling pair of pink snow boots.

The boys? They'll go barefoot. But, Lainey will be a sight to see.

Love her in skinny jeans and boots. Can we say skinny jeans for a toddler?

That just seems wrong.
