Arriving In Texas Tuesday Night

Our trip to Texas was eventful to say the least. While we enjoyed our family's company, we're left with a few bad memories of being sick most of the time! Jack threw up all over the rental car just an hour or so after landing. Then, I came down with a cold. I survived the week just fine, as adults can do, but Jack was not himself. After a trip to the Urgent Care center on Wednesday and then one to the ER after returning to Colorado late Saturday night, he seems to be on the road to recovery. Regardless, we're here for a while....have no urge to travel anytime soon!

Tuesday night was fun, despite the rough start. We celebrated Christmas with the Starnes family at Britney's house. She was kind enough to put the tree up early and we all had gifts to open.

Here are Blake, Pa and Lance taking orders from Carter to "sign in!" with his new game.

And, with Pa.

Britney and that gorgeous canine of hers, Maxie. Please keep the comments to a minimum on what a cutie that dog is. :)

Happy Thanksgiving

Just one shot of Carter today from Keystone on Sunday. We've fallen into a weekend pattern of the whole family skiing on Saturday together and then Blake and Carter head back up on Sunday while Jack and I stay home. Here he is on Sunday:

We're off to Texas tomorrow morning. Happy Thanksgiving to you all. We are grateful for your place in our lives. Take care!

Breckenridge on Saturday

Saturday morning brought another early rise and trip out to ski. We went to Breckenridge this time and found some good things about it, too. Every resort has its pros and cons. This one, while lacking the darling ski-town village that Keystone has (at least that is open currently at Breckenridge), the runs are easy and very accessible from the parking lot.

View from the highway.

Blake and Carter on the lift.

The boys in the parking lot during lunch.

Sweetheart Jack being accomodating as always.

Reading to the boys while Blake does a run on his own.

Jack, staying warm.

The Baby, He Does Not Like His Bath!

Well, we finally graduated from the newborn bath (since he's almost 7 months old)....and bought Jack one of the inflatable tubs. We've tried it twice since we purchased it and it's brought nothing but spine-numbing SCREAMS!

Just getting in....trying to distract him with toys.

A quick look at us (with carrots all over his face) and he starts to realize where he is and that he's not happy.

Nothing but hysteria here. Poor guy!

Birthday Boy

From all accounts, Carter had a great 6th birthday.

Here he is at school with his birthday badges on and sitting in circle time waiting for his class to sing "Happy Birthday" to him.

Passing out cookies to his friends.

At home with Dad playing with a gift he bought with Pa and Mae Mae's gift certificate.

Birthday present time! He had no idea he had so many gifts coming!

Jack watches and learns.

And, then goes for a toy!

The boys try out Carter's new snow sleds.

Birthday cake for the precious boy.
