Photo

Friday afternoon included an appointment to have the kids' pictures taken. It went just as expected. If Jack wasn't crying, Lainey was. Carter was an angel and tolerated it all very well.

The children each had individual photos taken and then we managed to get one group shot where no one was hysterical.

I really like the way it turned out. It speaks to their current roles in life. Carter looks to be the understanding one, taking care of the babies...Lainey, excited and wide-eyed...and Jack is his usual darling, crazy self.

It also looks "real" to me. They look like themselves and our family typically does not with professional pictures, which is exactly why we rarely do them. I dislike having everyone so posed and put into place. And, we also take about a dozen pictures a day...so we're well documented to say the least.

Stylin' With Thomas

What better way to spruce up a 21 month old's wardrobe?

He didn't completely understand at first and demanded to have them taken off. He wanted to play with the choo-choo's instead of wearing them.

First Time With Cereal

So proud of our baby girl! She ate cereal for the first time tonight and it went well.

Lainey is almost 19 weeks old. We're past the 4 month mark and so she's eligible for cereal at this point. The boys ate cereal at 8 weeks. Quite a difference!

We've waited with Lainey because she's smaller than the boys and she just seems more delicate, perhaps.

The magic weight requirement - if you ignore the 4 month rule - is 13 pounds, according to our pediatrician. She had not been weighed since 8 weeks, at which point she was just over 11 pounds. So, we waited. And, I'm glad we did. She's just now almost 14 pounds.

Are you there somewhere, Laine? She looks so much smaller than Jack in the high chair.

Sweet Jack was not happy with this change. He didn't mind her sitting in his high chair so much. But, we prepared her cereal in one of his bowls. As soon as he saw it, the "Prease! Prease!" began, and so we let him try a bite. I've never seen him spit something out so quickly. I'm sure he was anticipating some yummy yogurt or applesauce.

We've been preparing him for her taking over his chair by installing his new booster seat at the table. He seems to like it, however, we've still been putting him in the high chair because it's easier to clean a tray than an entire table.

Here he is after seeing us use his bowl. Poor guy!

She's ready!

She likes it! She likes it!

And, Jack liked watching her.

Got a little something there on your cheek.

As soon as we were finished with a few bites and it was clear that the meal was over, Jack took hold of the high chair and said, "Byeeee!"

Giving baby sister a ride.

Our two little ones.

Sometimes I Wish I Were A Choo Choo

Because Jack would love me OH SO MUCH.

Lainey Caroline

So many new names for precious Lainey. Some of the new ones include:

Lainey Bug
Lainey Bear
Punkin Laine

More than any...and to our surprise....we call her Baby Laine.

She is so much fun right now. Cooing and laughing and is really responding to the boys. She giggles at Jack and loves Carter. We are having a ball.

A few pictures from Wednesday. She's taking her brief morning nap here cuddled up in a hand-me down blanket from the boys. I'm trying so hard to get her on a schedule with Jack. At this time, Jack took 2 naps a day....like clockwork....but if I were to follow the same pattern.....10:00 and 1:00....I'd never have any baby free time, as Jack naps right after lunch. So, we're adjusting!
