Movies and Books

The Descendants is good.  Clooney is fantastic in this unbelievable tale of wondering just how much more this guy can take from life.  Loved it.  Not all roses and butterflies.....so be prepared.......it's a unique movie.

This one had my head spinning.  I'm still trying to put all of the pieces together.  Great acting and a beautifully made movie.......but I need to see it about 12 more times to follow the entire plot.

That being said, I wish I had seen The Artist instead.  Lots of awards at the Golden Globes.  Looks like fun.

This looks awesome.

Any others I'm missing?  I didn't see New Year's Eve.  Looked like Valentine's Day re-written into a new holiday script. Yes?  I did love Valentine's Day.  But, not sure I need to see it translated.

On to books......

I'm currently in love with Jonathan Franzen.

Have yall read Freedom?

Same guy.

Caroline gave me 3 of his books for Christmas last year.  Loved Freedom. Couldn't get through Strong Motion.  Loving The Corrections.  I'll give Strong Motion another try after loving the other 2.  Might have just been my mood at the time.

Any favorites lately that I need to read?

I've seen this trailer and it's made me want to read the book.  I don't often do that.....but the story looks quite interesting.

Sometimes I think there's not enough time in one's life for all the books that should be read.

Let me know if you have any suggestions!

I want to watch Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close. I almost cry every time the trailer comes on tv! I just got the Huger Games trilogy for my birthday and can't wait to read them before the movies come out!

I'm in the middle of Freedom! It's super good. I just fall asleep at like 8:30 PM. I need to read more during the day. Thanks for the movie and book reviews! Now I have something to add to my reading list.

I totally wanted to see NYE for my birthday. I let my MIL talk me into Sherlock Holmes. I was pissed 15 minutes into that movie. WTH was I thinking?

M hasn't seen Bridemaids yet so we're having a date night tomorrow since I scored a sweet deal at Hellmart yesterday.

Books...hmmm...well I really liked the Maze Runner trilogy by James Dashner...that may not be his name. I'm in a book club now (through blogger bitches) and we're reading MWF Seeking BFF. It's interesting and a non-fiction which is rare for me.

You have me curious about The Descendants!

My reading has been cut back so much since I started blogging, though I'm determined to keep up with my book club. We're reading Pope Joan this month about a woman who became pope. Hope it's good!

TOTALLY want to see the Sandra Bullock/Tom Hanks movie. Carl refuses to go so I plan to go to the theatre myself and see it. Have never done that before. Quite excited.

I want to see the Descendants too but it's not in theatres around here. How lame is that???

Also had never seen that What to Expect trailer... looks entertaining. I now want to see that too. We got a movie gift card for Xmas so I think I might even swing both!! Hooray!

As for books... yeah. I'm working on the Harry Potter series. I have the same tastes as a Tween.

Have you seen Hugo? Best movie of the year, in my opinion. I adored every single frame of it.

I saw the Descendants last night with my Moms Club. It was really good. Bought the book too but haven't started it yet.

I haven't read any Franzen yet, but I want to start w/ Corrections and then read Freedom. I'm on the waiting list @ the library so hopefully soon!

I think I'm gonna read the book descendents first then maybe see the movie.

FIRST of all. Your header is bullshit. You are not "just another" of anything, woman. Fix it.
Catching up a bit. Damn a few months in Starnes Crazy Land can hold a lot of stuff! Things that cracked me up: "Asiga" (how have I not heard about this before??), Jack is seriously a yummy baby-even in jackass plaid pants, Pinterest management being haters for not jumping on the Casey train...Lord almighty! So much goodness. I missed your writing. It's less abrasive than your voice. Kidding :)
Love you!
