My Biggest Baby

When Blake is out of town, my oldest child always wants to sleep with me. We've never been co-sleepers....always insisted on kids in their own beds....but I do allow him to spend the night with me occasionally.

Unfortunately, the following pictures show how much room he allows for me in our very large bed.

Fall Favorites

I had intended on starting to post my favorites about Halloween and the Fall season on October 1 and go through Thanksgiving. A bit late, but I'll start now.

#1 Pumpkins - I love the colors, smells, shapes and sizes. The day they arrive in the stores, I buy. I will start with a few basics that I can buy at an affordable price (at Walmart or Target) and then add to them with more distinct or unusual ones from pumpkin patches or farmers markets. We get the basic orange, white, green, etc. I buy gourds large and small. I really love the "Cinderella" style most, pictured below.

We clean and prep them before putting them out. I didn't do so this year, but have painted and crackled them in the past. They go on the front porch, on the back patio, inside and out. I really don't think I could have enough.

Home

I don't think I've gone 6 days without posting since I started this blog. Please forgive.

I made a quick decision Wednesday morning to go see my sister in Dallas who was in the hospital for disease related issues (Scleroderma and Pulmonary Artery Hyptertension). So, I cleaned and prepped the house to be shown while we were away. Did laundry and dishes, watered plants, etc.....woke up kids from their nap, threw them in the car, grabbed Carter from school and off we were. 12:00 noon departure. Arrived 5:00am the next morning. Blake can make the trip in 12 hours. It took me 17.

Caroline is doing well now, but had a few rough days. I continue to admire her for the battle she's in against these diseases. She handles it beautifully. We should all be blessed with such patience.

I think that most people who know me understand our relationship. Caroline is my closest friend...my inspiration....my secret keeper....my kids' Godmother...my kids' second mother....my cheerleader in life.....my favorite person to be around. As difficult as the situation was for her, it gave us an impromptu chance to sit and talk all day.

The drive there was rough, but worth every mile. Coming back was a bit better. Now that I've done it, I will be going more often. Even if it takes 17 hours.

Thanks to all of you who checked on me, offered help and inquired about Caroline. We were both very touched.

Phish Is Back, Baby!

Now I can relive my college years all over again. Check it out here.

Lemonade Stand

While we had our yard sale over the weekend, the boys held a Lemonade Stand. Carter spent his earnings on 2 Bakugans, his new favorite characters. Don't worry. I don't know what they are, either.

Take a look at his marketing. You just can't find work like this these days.

His first customer - little brother, of course.

And, some for Lainey in her sippy cup.
