The Ghost Town Museum

I took the boys out to The Ghost Town Museum in Colorado Springs a few weeks ago. It's a neat little museum that covers the western expansion into Colorado in the late 1800's and early 1900's.

We learned about the importance of gold mining in Colorado and how it led to its eventual establishment as a state. Carter really just wanted to pan for gold, but he found the rest interesting once we arrived!

Trying out the tools.

The shooting range.

This part was actually scary....there was an old guy in jail!

Driving the stage coach.

The general store. Everything seemed so simple back then!

This reminded us of the movie, "Big".

Finally.....panning for gold!
