Beautifully Lost in Time

Blake had to pick up his new car in Riverside, CA for work recently, so we tagged along. I went with an ulterior motive.....to visit the Downtowne Bookstore.

It's a real treasure.

It looks like a bookstore.  Like a bookstore should.

And stocks many of the greats.  Look at that run of Augusten Burroughs.  I loved them all.

There are hand written notes on book inventory.

I love that so much.

And the children's section is a mess.

I love that, too.

It's no Barnes & Noble.

The owner is always there.....she or the other owner, her sister.

They accept books on trade.  Not for money.

They KNOW about books.  They actually read them.

It's near perfection.

So close to perfection, in fact, that I received a penalty for getting lost in the fun.

And, it was worth every penny.

Ouch! That is a big parking ticket.
There aren't enough stores like that left anymore, sounds heavenly

Do you have a hard copy of Gone Girl? What are you reading right now? I am reading Maternal Newborn Nursing....a real page turner. Yay Blake's company car!

Kel, I have Gone Girl and another by her (plus many others) on my Kindle. I'm reading a paperback right now (Wolf on Wall Street) and my next two are paperbacks, too. I'll let you borrow my Kindle if you like.

I would lose track of time in a bookstore like that also. I LOVE to read. Lately, I have been reading a series about the Amish by Linda Castillo. Currently, I am reading the 5th book in the series, Her Last Breath.

Love! My dream in life is to own a bookstore with a cat and a bakery. :)

Holy smokes, sister! Do you sleep at night? When do you have time to do all of that reading?! I am soooo jealous! I only read on a couples vacation. Boo hoo!
