Palm Springs Day 3 - And the Remainder of Caroline's Trip

We rounded out our trip to Palm Springs with a morning at the pools.

Packed up and prepared to leave.

Drove into downtown again to grab the kids a yogurt as requested.  Love all the architecture.....even the bank is cute.

We took a different route home in hopes of seeing the crazy windmills.

Successful.

And, we drove up on this gem.

And, that, folks......is the TRex from Pee Wee's Big Adventure.

From the movie:

In real life:

Too awesome for words.

You walk into the belly of the Apatosaurus to buy tickets.

His name is Dinny.

More info on the Cabazon Dinosaurs HERE.

Caroline and I walked around speechless.  What a kooky place.

Finally made it to the TRex.

I snapped this picture and then cried like a baby descending the stairs.

Seriously......near panic attack.  Heights scare me.

What a bizarre little gem in Cabazon, CA.

We arrived home to lamb kabobs compliments of Blake and after unpacking, we watched Pee Wee's Big Adventure.

It was glorious.

We visited with Donna and Cam on Thursday.  They drove in from OC to make us lunch and chat.  We always feel so blessed to have them so close.

Caroline and I escaped later that day to see a movie.  First time in almost 10 days to have some kid-free time.  Loved every minute!

She's back in Texas now and we're missing her like crazy.  Already planning her next visit.....fall.....sooner than you'd think!

We are starting to get more and more windmills in Nebraska for power. Some are located in the town where my in-laws live. My husband claims they are not cost effective yet.

When we first moved here I just didn't get what the hoopla was all about with palm springs. But the more I'm starting to embrace this state and dare I say, fall in love with it the more I'm getting the itch to visit!

Why is Jack wearing his flip flops on the water slide? Welcome back, homies! P.S. your Palm Springs trip looks super fun.
