Summer Scoop

A mish mash of the latest......

Jack went to a birthday party on Friday.......saw the movie Turbo with friends from school.....it was pretty much the best day of his life.

Sans Lainey!

Sure that had nothing to do with it.

We hit the beach on Sunday.

Kids saw friends last week dig an exercise ball into the sand and use it as a spring board.

So, we did it, too.

Well, Blake did it.

Carter took off to surf.

And, the little ones started to jump.

Finally, Carter joined in.  With a basketball, of course.

Tuesday brought us to the Wave Waterpark for a final visit for the summer.  We had left over tickets from our Groupons with Caroline's visit.....so we enjoyed another day.

Our dainty daughter.

I rarely see much of Blake or me in Jack.  But, here, I totally see Blake.  Makes me happy.  He's really ours!

It was a fun day.

Just a few weeks left of summer. We have some surprises left for the kids before we jump head first into 1st, 2nd and 7th grade.

Back soon with details on Lainey's room makeover.  It's darling!

Fun post! Lainey is looking so much older to me. Watching everyone's kids get older is so bittersweet. Love Blake's shirt.

Not sure how your kids swim in that cold ocean all the time! Also, I thought you all were going to have Lainey repeat kindergarten?

We are going to have to try burying an exercise here on one of the beaches at the river. That looks like fun!

Dee - I'm just getting in the ocean this year for the first time. I avoided it for the past 2 summers. We've been at the beach so much......I finally caved. It's actually nice once you get used to it. But, definitely cold!

Laine excelled in Kindergarten. Holding her back this year would have made for a very bored child. So, we're considering holding her back in 1st. Many teachers recommended such.....1st is much more challenging.
