Wednesday Scoop

Lots to talk about today.

First, let's start with this kid. THIS KID was chosen as one of top 4 kids in his class to compete in the Spelling Bee tomorrow. He's a spelling wizard, so it didn't surprise me.....but I'm thrilled for him! Carter is super smart all around, but has a real knack for this. Definitely a Clemens gene because Blake can't spell at all. About 10 years ago, he sent me with a grocery list and requested I get "begals". I almost came home with a dozen dogs.


Lainey is continuing to embark her cuteness on the world. This time, by putting Meow Meow in her baby bjorn to go on walks. You know.....like I want to do with Batman.....but he won't sit still.

Have you ever heard of Meow Meow? This "public figure" of ours has 145 fans on Facebook. Who knew so many people would "like" a fake cat?


Been playing outside a lot. Most often with trains, of course.

And, I'm obsessed with Stieg Larsson. On his second right now.....third (and final of the series) comes out on May 25! This is a whole new genre of reading for me. Crime and mystery. Used to think it was reserved for geeks. Turns out it is and I'm one of them!

Picnics.....even on the driveway......are so fun.




OK, let me see if I can get through this next part without having a total fit of laughter. Jack re-discovered his Thomas the Tank Engine singing toothbrush and walks around the house like he's in the 80's holding a jambox. I kid you not.

Lainey doesn't totally understand the point.....and because she does not have a singing toothbrush (on the grocery list)......she uses her dad's.....that doesn't sing......but there is a button to push......so she thinks it's the same.

Thank God she's pretty. She might not be our brightest kid.


And, on that note, I'm going to go find my Mother of the Year award and polish it up before hitting Costco and Target with the punks. Lots to do still to prepare for Coco's visit. And, Sass's wedding.

Oh. I almost forgot. Coco isn't in hiding. Her computer is acting up.

And, Sass? A bit nervous. A whole lot nutty right now. I called her last night to see what she was wearing on Saturday to see if the dress I chose was appropriate. She called me back this morning. AT 8:00AM. I don't think she's been up that early since I babysat her back in the day. Yall say some prayers that Coco doesn't have to cause a scene and draw attention to herself so that Sass can throw up mid-ceremony. I mean, that would be awesome blog material. But, not good for pictures.
