Question Of The Week - Eat, Live, Be for a Better 2011 - Recipes

Today's high is 80 degrees. "Lovely" doesn't quite seem adequate. Everything is in bloom, including the gorgeous red rose bushes that circle the gazebo in our backyard. Every now and then, I pinch myself just to make sure it's real.

I took the punks down to the beach on Friday night to catch the sunset. I love California.

Here's the forecast for the next 10 days.

((((More pinching.))))

To the topic at hand in my challenge for fitness in 2011, a la Eat, Live Be:

Baby, It's Cold Outside (post cold-weather recipes or tips for staying fit while staying inside).

Hehehehehe!

Cate and Sarah, yall didn't consider your southern California friends. No worries. I have plenty of peeps in colder regions.

So........

*What are your tips for inside exercise? Any easy recipes you recommend?

Oh, and if you're keeping up with our Facebook page or participating in your own way with inspiration from Eat, Live, Be for a Better 2011, go ahead and pat yourself on the back for being part of something pretty great. We just got a write up in Diets in Review. Check it out here. Feeling kinda famous!

Weekly stats:
Lost 2 more pounds, for a total of 4.
Exercise included basketball, Jillian Michaels 30 day shred DVD, and walking.
Eating was good!

Way to go, Casey! Yes, we are so fortunate to live in this climate......I have been saying that for the last week! A great recipe is for slow cooker 21 bean soup. Just add water, vegetable broth, the beans, some stewed tomatoes, a few spices(cayenne, wing sauce) and let simmer all day. Yummy and healthy goodness.

So jealous of your weather right now. I have been using our Wii Fit more this Winter than any other, my goal is not only for me to be smaller but also my Mii :).

Since I am in Michigan and didn't think I woud have internet access, I have schedule some healthy recipes for Wednesday. You'll have to stop by!

Great job on the weight loss Casey! I don't really have any good weight loss recipes. I just watch my portion sizes. I eat Cheerios or oatmeal for breakfast, lean sandwich and fruit for lunch, and supper is a family affair. Keep exercising!! I've heard the 30 day shred video is awesome!

So proud of the weightloss Case! And you're even more famous now!
Must be hard to get out and get active in that nasty weather. Sorry I said "f---k you" the other night when you sent a sunset picture. I was currently trying to navigate my black beast in 12 degree weather, at night, in slush snow and ice. I know you understand.
I will NOT click your weather forecast! I refuse.
But I am happy you're enjoying the beautifulness of SD. I'm going with Tony to SD end on Jan for business- I'll have to stop by :)

Any kind of dance games on the Wii are fun. My personal favorite is MJ The Experience :)

Oh Casey, you are absolutely right that we didn't consider our friends in warmer climates (probably because we were both groaning about needing more layers at the time ;) ). Don't worry -- we are working on adding new topics now and will be sure to be more mindful about it. Congrats on your great loss this week!

Great job, Casey!!! Kudos to you!
I played Just Dance on the Wii at Christmas and was sweating (& giggling!) by the time I was done. The boxing on Wii sports is quite a workout, too. I love the Shred series and KC has a workout-on-demand channel that I frequent. But I definitely burn the most calories at the gym - no distractions & free child care! And if I lived there, runs on the beach would be mandatory. :)

Your forecast looks great. I was just talking to my husband and our 23 degree day is a heatwave because our 10 day forecast is single digits. Brrrrr...beautiful sunset!

My post has lots of inside exercise ideas, but no recipes. :)

Congrats on your four pounds lost! I only weigh once a month, too triggering for me otherwise.

Woohoo! Congrats on the 2 pounds and on your commitment to working out! I am totally jealous of the weather. It's raining freezing rain here and I'm really hoping it stops later so I can go for a run!

I am in Southern California as well. How amazing has the weather been ... not to mention the sunsets! It has been hard to keep us inside. I feel for those in the snow but, totally enjoying the weather. I think I have to bust out my 30 day shred video.
