Just Some Stuff

Lots on my mind lately.

Bear with me.

1.  I don't like Girl Scout cookies.  That doesn't mean I don't like Girl Scouts or children in general.  I typically buy them for the troops each year, so I still feel like I'm not a heathen.  I also try to buy from different resources so that everyone can benefit from my guilty conscience.

2.  I volunteer at the boys' school each week.  Upon walking out recently, I found a lady in the criss-cross-applesauce position (Indian style to those not easily offended), doing yoga and chanting.  After a few moments of thought, it finally dawned on me.  I like California because we're less of a spectacle here.  If she can get away with THAT, perhaps we're less of a shock.

3.  I saw The Artist last night.  Fantastic.  Blake had no idea why I would pay $20 to see a silent movie in black & white.  I didn't even try to explain.

4.  The Hunger Games premier is going to be a total freak show.  I won't see it for a while after its release.

5.  We Need To Talk About Kevin is the most riveting and disturbing book I've read in years.  Have I said this before?  Still haunted by it.  Thank God it's a novel and not non-fiction.

6.  I'm currently on hold with the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique at Disneyland booking Lainey and Maci Kaye's princess makeovers for next week.  I'm not sure who is most excited about this......the girls or Britney and me.

7.  Off the phone now after making the girls' appointments.  The cast member (don't call them employees) told me to have a 'magical day'.

Totally stealing that.

8.  Am I the only one who thinks Anthropologie has completely lost it?

$1400 for this?  I could find the same for $12 at my local thrift store.

9.  I don't understand the fascination people have with mustaches.

Please explain.

That's all I've got.

Have a magical day!

Oh my! I love Girl Scout cookies. I hate the price though.

I can't wait to see The Hunger Games. I'll probably wait awhile too. I'm not one to join a crowd.

Haha! I agree with the mustache thing. Weird. I bought cookies from a coworker, but then I got the GD and had to put them in the freezer until after this baby is born! Then I am going to BINGE.

Take your magical day and shove it. I've had a horrible day and I'm pissy.

I bought 2 boxes of girl scout cookies and didn't share or tell a single soul. Remember--I'm on a diet.

I've got my tickets for HG. I'm so excited!!

I don't think I'll read that book.

the mustache thing is so creepy. i only associate mustaches with stalkers, pervs and adult film stars. i don't get it either.

Ok, several things:
1) Indian style is not used anymore???? And I recently snuck a picture of someone doing yoga at the airport! I couldn't stop staring!
2) I cant wait to see Hunger Games either but I am waiting at least a month!
3) Have you read Nineteen MInutes? It sounds very similar to Let's Talk about Kevin. Moving stuff.

Have a magical day. I shall steal this as well.
I don't get the mustache thing. But a lot of people don't get the vampire thing and I'm way on board with that. So I just stop trying to get people's weird quirks/obsessions because Lord knows I have a lot of my own and I just cannot explain them.
Thanks to my chocolate allergy, I can't eat many of the Girl Scout Cookies but the ones I can have do not excite me. I also don't like that they renamed them. To me, they will always be what they were called when I was a girl scout. Why the weirdo new names? Stick with the original stuff.

Well, first off, I would like credit for telling you that I heard "We need to talk about Kevin" was good. And by good, I mean disturbing. I'm going and buying it today. Because I love reading disturbing materials. Second, I'm super glad you're enjoying it.

Is it really $20 to go to the movies? THAT's magical.

In addition to my last post...Girl Scout Cookies are terrible for you. They have loads of partially-hydrogenated soybean oil and other really bad things in them. I just ignore those little girls and their liberal causes when I see them at Publix.

Did you get that I'm BUYING the book? I requested my public library carry it last year...which they still don't. Well, actually, I have a gift card to Barnes and Noble but that's besides the point.

Peace out.
