Ski Trip - Bear Creek and Snow Summit

Seriously fun weekend.

Lots of pictures.  Sit back and enjoy!

The drive in......oh, how I miss the mountains.  Our area of San Diego is hilly and beautiful, but there is nothing like the true mountain regions.

Got started at Snow Summit.  Totally unfamiliar with these resorts......lots to learn!

Laine put on makeup while the boys skied.

She's very much into the party pics these days.  "Hold da camera out and take our picture."

Our children need haircuts so badly.

Did yall see Dumb and Dumber?

Seriously.  Jack is Harry right now.

See?

Here's the breakdown of skiers in this house:

Blake - awesome
Casey - can get down the mountain
Carter - totally cool snowboarder
Jack - very serious and really interested in learning more
Lainey - total flake

We're all very serious about the stickers, though, for helmets.

Do you hear that?

Nothing.  Silence.  She finally stopped whining.

Big Bear on Sunday........it was a bright, sunny morning!

Punkin Jack BEGGED for poles........cool skiers use poles......Blake finally caved.

Ski lifts make me nervous.  Especially when they're carrying my kids.  But, there is only one way up the mountain!

That's Blake and one of the little ones top left of this next photo.

Little Laine.  Our giggly, squirmy skier.

The "Wee Ski" is a harness system that allows the kids to ski ahead and you stay in control.

Jack and Lainey have both learned to ski with these.  They're awesome.

Except that because Lainey is such a goofball on the slopes, she doesn't mind falling one bit and actually laughs when Blake pulls her up like a marionette puppet.

She falls a lot.

Love.  This.  Kid.

Big Bear Mountain seemed to have more personality than Snow Summit.

And, we learned a lot about California skiing.

1. They don't take it very seriously out here.

2.  Locals don't care for clothes much while skiing.  It was 70 degrees, so I can almost understand this.

Didn't see anyone in bikinis, but lots of tank tops and shirtless guys.

Even the employees skimped on clothing:

Busted.

I bought this cute hat for myself and proudly came in with it.  Upon doing so, Blake informed me that this is an Alabama hat........fans wear it to mimic the coach.

Damn.  So, I gave it to Laine.

I love when he carries the kids like this.

Except, at one point on the mountain, Laine had fallen and he picked her up.  Perhaps too quickly because she threw up just after.

Awesome.

After waiting with the punks at the bottom of the mountain, I finally made it up with Carter.

My favorite view:

Look closely and you can see some big foot tracks back there.  We're on the hunt.  Kids are recently obsessed.  Thanks Judy Moody Bummer Summer movie.

So cool.  Love that Carter is so good.  He did some runs on his own and seemed super comfortable with everything.

Beautiful.

Such a fun trip.

This week, we prepare for our basketball team party, hosted at our house, on Saturday.

Also:

*field trip

*furniture assembly for the back yard (can't wait to see it and show you!)

*plan for Britney and kids visit next week!

Busy, as always, folks.  Not sure how else to do life.

Back soon.

Looks like a lot of fun. I've never been skiing before. Don't really miss it. Maybe if my parents had started me out when I was 4...

So many thoughts! I am not a fan of skiing. Maybe because I'm always cold. And I hate walking in those stupid boots. And try to pee in those stupid boots? Over it. I told the family that if we ever go skiing I will be happy to stay in the lodge as the contact person/babysitter. Although the ski pants are super comfy and give more than jeans after eating soup in a bread bowl every day. Yum!! Glad you had such a great time!

Looks like an awesome weekend!

I love the busted picture. Too funny!

New haircut for you? If so, it is really cute. If not, great hair day!

What a fabulous trip! Great pictures! Totally cracking up about the "whining" part! Kamree whines non-stop and she is making me crazy! I thought we were past the terrible two's but apparently not!

Love all the pictures!
That's funny about Jack and his poles!
I hope if we ever have kids that we'll have them on the slopes when they are little :)
