Summer Playlist

Lots of our favorites for warm weather. What am I missing?

****This is not all 'safe for work' and 'safe for kids'. As sweet and demure as I am, I do like the occasional rap song.

How about "Round Here" or "Mr. Jones" by the Counting Crows?

"Saturday in the Park" by Chicago (or anything by Chicago) is fabulous summer music. "Mr. Jones" always makes me think of that summer I was dating DC (yum) and you and I would drive around in my 240SX listening to that song on cassette single. HA! When was that? I'm thinking 1994? Good times....that was a fun summer :)

I would have to add some Big Head Todd. It always makes me think of summers at the lake!

Loving the Run DMC. ha!! Lots of Drive By Truckers on there too :)

And maybe Jack Ingram or Robert Earl Keen's - Road Goes On Forever. That's a summer song for sure!

OK, I've added some of your suggestions. Good stuff!

Moni - yes, I do remember that summer. Awesome.

Sara - Big Head Todd, of course.

Fitz - Lookin at Me is one of the best EVER. I miss Mace! His gospel music just isn't the same.

On those beautiful sunny, brightest blue sky ever days - nothing is better than opening up the sunroof and riding around on my lunch hour with Stevie Ray Vaughn playing loud & proud. I'm a Texas girl after all.

Oh - what about a little Bowling for Soup? Ironically, another Texas band and they do a version of "Bare Necessities" from The Jungle Book that the kiddos would love!

We have so many of those on our Itunes list - DMB, Chesney, Will Smith (we love him here - plus he's hot!) etc. Love Sittin on the Dock of the Bay! Mr. ESPN even created a summer drinking songs one for the pool - we're classy like that. We'll probably be playing it as we jump in the pool for the first time this season this weekend!
