Overdue Scoop

Lots to catch up on.

Our creative juices are flowing at the Starnes house. Thank God for washable markers. So far, they can easily be removed from clothes, carpet, walls, furniture, hair, skin, toilets, shoes and Batman! I wonder why he ever leaves the basement.

Jack's 4th birthday came and went. 4 is my favorite age. Can I say that? It is. They're still super innocent, but smarter and more reasonable. Or, at least you can somewhat reason with them. Well, most of the time. Unless they're mid-tantrum. In that case, there's no hope. Oh, forget it. I like all the ages.

Punks.

Cake.

Birthday wish. I'll give you one guess.

More from the zoo......the promised carousel ride.

And, the train! The train! First ride.

And, look who got to ring the bell! The birthday boy. Pure happiness.

The swan is nesting again. We watched them last year, too. Hope we get to see the babies soon.

More creativity at the house. Painting is so stressful fun. Outside, of course!

I kicked back and relaxed the only way I know how. In style.

Jack and Lainey attended their last day of "school" recently. They attended music class together and met on the playground. I'll be sad next year when they're separated. Our kiddos are growing up.

We're busy preparing for Coco's visit next week. Blake has graciously offered to take time off from work to watch the kids so Courtney and I can go on a day trip to Weston, Missouri. Shopping galore. And, a meltdown free lunch. (Unless, of course, we can't find a place that serves wine. Then, Courtney will be a total mess and will make the toddlers look like angels.)

I can't wait. Then, to Sass's wedding the next evening. It's going to be fabulous.

Speaking of the wedding......I was out shopping with Jack and Lainey yesterday. Was in the dressing room and had nearly recovered from:

"Mom!!!!!!!!!!! Wook at dose underpants!"

When Lainey throws out in her sing songy voice:

"Ummhhh......maybe not?" as soon as I get the too-tight first dress on.

Confidence? Up today!

dying at the underpants comment...that's hilarious. I have nude color granny pannies from Soma...they have super glue stuff on the edges that make them not ride up...Ryan and Hagen die laughing at me if they "catch" me wearing them. I hide so I don't have to feel subpar...

Tell you what ladies...they are the BEST for wearing under those sundresses. Noone wants to think of where your dress is at or VERY near when you have a dress wedgie...

P.S. Love yours and LC's shoes. Love the pic of you and Jack too!

I wear little yoga shorts with my sundresses. But my Hanky Pankys everywhere else.

Y'all and your granny panties.

LOVE YOU BLAKE!!! And Case, find a place that serves vodka. We're kid free remember?

You're smart for painting outdoors, why haven't I thought of that?

Please comb Jack's hair during my visit.

First of all, I did not clarify which kind I was wearing.

Second of all, would it better if I was wearing some skimpy stuff in front of my kids?

Third of all, Jack's hair is no longer spike-able. But, it was "yike a dinosaur" for a while there and you loved it, Coco.

Mine are also nude color...Ryan HATES them and said that my bum should not be tanner than my body...just wrong...I see his point.

Speaking of point. I liked Jacks crazy hair! Decided today that Hagen's hair is being chopped off. I've had it...

Jen- I'm with you! Let's go!! :)

Cracking up over Lainey and Jack's comments in the dressing room. Hilarious!

And I love, love, love that picture of Jack making his wish. So cute.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Love it!!! I'm still in love with Miss Lainey's shoes and wish I had a pair for Miss Sophie. And that first photo of Lainey's pose totally cracks me up!!!

Blake said...

Casey -

First, is there any other kind?
Second, YES! Much less tramatic.
Third, cut it or comb it. No more dinosaur. I dont yike it.

I want Lainey's shoes. For me!

And I love her in the top pictures with all 3 of them.

Markers/crayons/pencils/etc have all been banned at my place, for now anyway! I wouldn't mind so much if we didn't have cinder block walls...but those are literally impossible to scrub off...and Cam loves to scribble on them! I'm glad you said 4 is your favorite age...it HAS to be better than 3...it just HAS TO BE!!!! :)

You are super Mom for letting your kids paint. No painting allowed at my house for children unless it is the kind that you use water and then the paper changes colors.

Don't you just love taking your kids into the dressing room with you! Too funny!

I'm in too, Jen, for crashing Sass' wedding! Can't wait to see the pics!! Will be so much fun!

Love the wishing pic of Jack. Total framer. And LC's shoes are adorable. I can't get G to wear anything other than flip flops. Your slippers are cute, too!

And, I could not for the life of me figure out what Jack was holding in the train pic until the next one. A bear?

Blake - banned from comments.

Alisha - yep, a bear. The old school Gund polar bear. It used to be white. Like Meow Meow.

Blake's comment...I don't yike it...greatness.

I haven't worn granny panties since I was 15....even when I was pregnant. TMI?

lots of lols in this comment section. :)

lainey looks like the world's cutest freddy kruger in picture #1 by the way. ha

i like the dinosaur spikes!

HAAAAAAA about the undies!

Blake said...

Seriously? You are banning me! But I have so much to say...Should I start with those orange socks? What about the pink pair? Or the green ones?

Ladies, if you want to turn your man on...just slip into a pair of "Hot Sox." Whoa Baby! As an FYI, you'll get more bang for your buck when all of those fuzzy warm fibers have been mashed and worn to form a plastic sole. So hot!

Casey - Get a baby sitter, cause daddy is taking you out tonight.

Blake, I just spewed wine on my laptop. I'm billing you for that. Dead serious.

OMG, do I need to hire a bouncer? You goofs. I promise, I'll make you feel like you were there. Plus, not sure if you wan to associate with Coco. She's going to distract everyone during the ceremony so I can puke real quick. Not sure what she's going to do yet. Case, bring a video camera.

I'm DYING over Lainey's comment! I can totally hear her saying that! Everything she says is sing-song unless she's just up from a nap.
I love your Scoops.

That picture of Jack closing his eyes and making a wish is the most precious preciousness of ever.

I'm jealous about Sass's wedding too. Even though we've never met.

Coco said...

I am bringing a few pairs of hanky pankys for you this weekend. Not kidding.
Come to the other side. I even run in mine and like Allison, I wore them with all babies. Had to go BUY granny panties after birth. Apparantely you have to wear a monster pad and nobody gave me this info. I was not going to ruin my $20 a pair thongs.
Interesting huh?

The Soladay Family said...

Coco's monster pad comment...Greatness.

I'm a little nervous with all these comments - TMI to the max!

Love the zoo/train pics! They make me smile!
