Scoop

As we were driving out to our picnic last night, Blake spotted a limo on the highway. "Look kids! A limo!" Lainey replied, "Hey. Dat not Nemo." That pretty much sums up our romantic 10 year anniversary celebration. Kid-filled. I mean, really, who needs to jet off to Mexico and spend 4 days staring all googly-eyed at each other with pina coladas in hand? Times are tough, peeps! We had fun, anyway.

Found a few more pictures from the resurrected memory card. Lainey Bug in her high chair. I typically bawl like a baby with each passing phase of our kids growing up, but this is one thing I do not miss. Do you see the perma-funk of food on the arm? Yuck.

Carter snapped this picture of us while hiking through the Rocky Mountain National Park. I miss my baby bjorn.

We celebrated Carter's last day of school with a zoo trip. Lainey is in cute-overload mode. And, I think Carter looks just like his Daddy here.

Think Jack is excited about the train? Nice glamour shots pose, Blake.

The Kansas City Zoo is crawling with snakes. Literally. And, not in cages. This guy was by the swan's nest.

Back to the train. Tunnel!

Punks on our stop mid-way to pick up more passengers.

Loving it.

We went to Africa this time.......on the far end of the zoo.

Cutie husband. Of 10 years and 1 day.

Lainey showed Meow Meow the elephants.

And, clung to Carter for a bit.

Meow Meow got a ride on Lainey's shoulders.

Waiting for the tram back.

We grabbed dinner on our way out and then headed to our favorite picnic spot. Have you noticed how much we love picnics? Outside.....under the trees.....with the fam. Doesn't get much better.

Later that night, we found this on our couch. I have no idea.

So, the job search is going well. And, if the sheer necessity of an income and benefits doesn't persuade Blake to find something, his need to leave this house every day will. The children are driving him insane. It must be them.......certainly not me.

This week has been jam packed with dentist appointments. Although, they're early for our 6 month check-ups, we're getting them in before Cobra takes over. The kids did well.....glowing reports as before......Jack and Lainey even got full cleanings this time. Then Jack refused the x-rays. Our dentist told us that he will definitely be our orthodontist-needing kid. His teeth are so perfectly straight right now.....there's not a lot of room for his adult teeth to fill in. And, all of this makes sense because he's absolutely our easiest kid.

Kansas suddenly turned very hot. I don't like the heat. And, I really don't understand how kids can play and play outside until their hair is sopping wet with sweat. Weirdos.

Off to sing Marty Moose, the fake theme park song from the movie, Vacation. That, or Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer. As lullabies. Because it's bedtime.

Our kids really have no hope with us as parents. Later!

Yes, Carter looks so much like your hubby in that one picture!

We will have to go on COBRA next year while Nate is student teaching. I'm nervous!

Blake's Glamour Shots pose had me in tears... ahhahahaha... I love it.

And the pic of Lainey clinging to Cater. Sigh. I melt. I adore your punks...

I despise being this busy. I have missed so much, I can tell from this post. I am off to read more.

Carter and Blake....identical twins.

I was on Cobra coverage when pregnant with The Teenager, and it was super expensive, geez! You know, if if weren't for the idiots who aren't responsible enough to pay their hospital bills, it wouldn't have to cost so much!

Limo and Nemo...I can see the connection. =)Love the pics!

There was a news story on this morning about how there are tons of snakes around Dallas this year....they also said that most people are bitten while trying to kill them!

I like the heat, but not when I have to be out in it for long periods without a pool nearby. Field day tomorrow in 95 degree heat should be AWESOME for me. Us teachers think there should be margarita popsicles available to us at the hydration station.

Cute pics of the kiddos...Carter is getting so big!

That picture of Jack on the train is great. His little face is so lit up and excited. And the pic of Carter holding LC?? Love that one. Almost as much as I love the Glamour Shot pose of Blake.

And by the way, is your phone broken dude??? You can't leave me a message like that and then make me wait 2 days!! WTH?

Yea, Carter is alive! But wth is he doing?

I'm with Sara - wtf is up w/your phone? I texted you but no reply.

Our highchair has the perma-nasty arm also, yuck! Glad it's "normal".
I'm glad to hear that the job search is going well so far. Let me know if I can help with anything.
And the heat is terrible, Fiona wants to play outside all the time. It would have been nice to have some spring.

I am just glad to see that somebody else's highchair is as nasty as ours!

Marty Moose lullaby...love that!

I am in LOVE with that picture of Carter holding Lainey and kissing her cheek. That boy...he is going to be such a good man when he grows up...just like his Daddy.

Snakes...yikes!

Picnics are the best! My kids love to eat lunch on our deck or in their playground fort!

The picture of Lainey and Carter is pure LOVE--maybe one of my favorite pics EVER! Also, love the rain boots on Jack and Lainey. There is a reason why the mom typically stays home.....men go crazy at home after a few days.

I love the picture of Carter holding Lainey. What a sweet brother.

Oh my gosh!!! That's her!!! That's the "mom-who-had-enough-and-ran-away" lying right there on your couch! It was all over the news. You didn't hear about it?

She hadn't showered in days, her husband couldn't remember the last time he saw her out of her robe and slippers and the kids said they were screaming, fighting or whining (can't remember which one it was) so loud they didn't even notice she'd left. I'm so glad she's ok!!!

Now I know where to go when I'm pushed over the edge. I'll sneak over to your house while your family is off at the zoo and having picnics. She's smart! : )
