New Camera

Forget about expensive jewelry and fancy cars....to keep me happy, I'll take a nice camera. Our previous one had seen better days and with the flash working inconsistently, it was time to replace it. I think it's safe to say we got our money's worth after taking 10's of thousands of pictures with it in its 3 year life span.

We've bought 4 cameras since going digital about 5 years ago. We always buy Canon because of its quality and the company's service. This new one is a Power Shot S5IS...the same camera as we bought before, but an updated version with a much higher megapixel and an even better optical zoom. I'm in heaven.

A picture of my new baby....

I thought for sure you'd get an SLR. :)

Oh, I would LOVE the Canon Rebel, but it's a whole other level of cameras. Mine is larger than the pocket cameras we have, but it's still small enough to throw in my diaper bag. A Rebel also would send me down the road of buying new lenses and adding on features.

Don't want to have that sort of investment....which would end up being over $1,000...in my posession with young children in and out of our bag, playing with the camera, etc. So, the Power Shot is a perfect fit for us. But, one day, yes, I will have the Rebel!
