***Final Installment*** The Weekend Addition When Coco Was In Town....an Ongoing Report

Sunday, 7:53pm

Coco is back in Texas and the Starnes house is quiet again. Well, that's not true. But, there's one less!

A recap of the rest of her trip....

After we escaped death at the hotel in Weston, Coco made dinner for Blake in appreciation for his watching the kids while were out.

Delish. She's a great cook.

Saturday morning......during the garage sale......we took the kids into Kansas City for a visit to the museums at Union Station. Super fun.

Sweetness. Daisy and Jack.

Lunch at the diner and then off to see the trains!!!!!!!! THE TRAINS! And, Science City.

Jack held Lainey's hand on the bridge, as always.

Courtney on the sky bike! So brave.

At about 1pm, we headed back to suburbia to get all dolled up for Sass's wedding. The sitter came at 4pm to help while we got ready.....she was great......did so well with the kids!

So, we were back into the city for the big event.

It was awesome. She got it all right......the ceremony, the inclusion of her step-daughters, the venue, the dress, the jewelry, the food, drinks, dj.....I could go on and on. I'll let her give you more details, though. You're going to love it!

Baby brother, Sam and Sass.

Coco, Sass and me. Why don't I have a cool name like them?

With Katie, Sass's sister (who needs a blog). The beauty in this family is overwhelming!

This might surprise you, but Sass didn't wait long to get the party started.

Coco, too! We danced and danced.

A kiss for Carter.......cute.

Blake and Sass. It's really going to be weird one day when I surprise him at his office and this is printed out and put into the frame I was in before.

I don't know, people. I can't take her anywhere!

Off to read and sleep rather early tonight. Had a fantastic weekend......hope you did, too!

Saturday, 6:34am

Had so much fun yesterday. Coco and I headed out to the cutest town ever: Weston, Missouri.

It's about 45 minutes from us......and we saw this on the way. I feel like I'm betraying Jack when I see a train and he's not there.

Our goal for the day.....avoid the police department at all costs.

First stop, lunch. Courtney's selection....chicken fingers and fries.

Mine? Deep fried BLT. I didn't know this delicacy existed.

I love a good sandwich......it's absolutely my favorite meal ever.......but don't understand how people eat the super tall ones. So, I made a salad. And, then ate about 10% of it. A little heavy.

For Sara.

Love, love, love this darling town.

Courtney is a Methodist. Evidence here.

The cutest candle store ever.

Insert joke here.

Floyd. Resident dog and town icon.

Long, long story.....from our first encounter with the General Cat.......Caroline and I fell in love with this kooky cat picture last year on our trip to Weston. The owner refused to sell it. We were delighted to receive 2 prints of it and Courtney gave hers to Caroline. She was in tears when we told her. At home later last night. It was awesome.

Back to our trip......kitties galore.

Precious.

Oops! Don't tell Adam. Money doesn't count on vacation, though, right?

To the St. George Hotel for cocktails.

We quizzed the bartender on the history of the hotel.....who brought in the chef and then the owner......to delight us with more stories.

And, then we got a personal tour of 2 rooms. We started to feel a bit iffy about the situation, so I stayed close to the door in case the "owner" (how would we have known differently?) had planned to take us up there to murder us.

While 1/2 my brain was wondering how this Dateline scenario would play out......2 suburban moms on a girls' trip to shop (who met on-line) slain in an odd pre-meditated trap inside known haunted hotel.......the other 1/2 was admiring the exposed brick from the original construction.....in 1845.

We survived the room tours and then went through the National Silk Art Museum. Got plenty of inside information......lots to see.....love it when things like this just kind of take shape.

And, here we are with the owner and general manager. Pretty sure we are all BFFs now.

At some point, Courtney escaped death again - this time in the form of a sword - when she was anointed with some sort of title. I don't think I have to tell you that they were humoring us as much as we were baffling them.

We rounded out the day by quickly running in this place......the original bar recommended to us.....that claimed to serve the best cocktails around. The sweet owner of the candle shop told us to absolutely not go in.......that it was full of locals and kind of a rough crowd. Confirmed. Upon walking in, a crazy old man, obviously enamored with Coco's presence slurred, "Take off your glaspes and stay a while. It's too dark in here." We left promptly.

So, Weston will likely never be the same. Coco's random outbursts of, "OH MY GAWD. I LOVE THAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!" were a little bit for the locals.

Today? Off to Union Station while Blake mans the garage sale. It's raining and our neighborhood was not prepared at all.......so it's not going so well. Cross your fingers for some big sales!

Friday, 8:32 am

She didn't pass out mid-game. Promise.

Still calling her "Daisy". Still don't know why. But, she's starting to respond accordingly.

Surviving.

We tried to work on the garage sale last night, but kept getting distracted.

We got two tables done. Coco put back about 1/2 of what I was planning to sell.

"No. This is a Craigslist item."

"No. I'm taking this home."

"No. Can I ship this?"

Her tab is currently at $3.00.

There may not be enough coffee today.

Thursday, 7:26pm

OK, so Jack insists Coco's name is Daisy. We have no idea why. We're not questioning in order to keep them docile.

We've decided to post in spurts.....with minor explanation.....feel free to leave commentary or explanations as you see them.

Waiting for the plane.

2 hours after her "original" flight was scheduled to land, we saw a police car enter the tarmac and assumed the inevitable.

We busted out the earliest photo album including pictures from when I was pregnant with Carter. And, gained 60 pounds during my pregnancy. And, looked GOOD.

A random attack......tail-less dinosaur and Meow Meow.

Refreshments.

Back with more soon!

Some questions - when Daisy was on the bike, could people see up her dress?!?

And, why does Daisy have a sombrero on her head in that picture?!?! Loving the DJ pic with Sass. And I'm dying laughing over your comment about the pic of Blake and Sass going on his desk. Hilarious.

What a fun wedding! A fun weekend all around! Glad to know that Blake survived and that Daisy is home safe and sound in TX.
