Home!

We left Denver around 5:00pm on Sunday after First Communion (pics to come) and a goodbye at our good friends' house after. We're less efficient as a family of 5....perhaps I have a little George Costanza in me.....but I focus more on the time and thus, keep us moving quicker. Blake? Not so much.

Seeing as the first couple of hours of the trip included Lainey pleading with us, "Matman, out!!!!!" each time she heard Batman whimper, I was READY to get to Kansas City and settle our family.

We arrived around 4:30am on Monday morning.....I slept for a bit at the hotel while Blake (after no sleep at all) took the kids out to keep them busy. We got the keys to the house at 7:30am.....moving truck arrived at 9:00.....and we were on our way. I spent most of the day directing the guys as to what goes where and they were a great team. Furniture is in the appropriate rooms, boxes await me in their respective homes and the basement is filled with the rest. Still lots to go through.

As of now, Lainey's room is completely unpacked and the living and dining are in place as well. Tomorrow, I tackle the remainder of the house after a grocery store trip and a few essentials placed throughout the house (all TVs working, PlayStation found, etc).

We're loving the house thus far. Huge leaf filled, branch filled, beauty filled trees surround our little bungalow here and we're in awe of them after being in new neighborhoods for the past 6 years. I have not seen lush trees like this since I lived in the gorgeous state of Louisiana. It's lovely. They shade the entire front yard and stretch out behind, reaching over the patio and surrounding the balcony. Expect to hear more about and see more of these trees because we're quite fascinated!

This house's lease is a trial of sorts to see how we like living in an older home. Blake and I are very much interested in buying a much older house next spring, but want to see how we adjust to smaller closets, smaller bathrooms, and in general, older details. Time will tell!

I'll be back as soon as I can with pictures and a report from how the remainder of the house comes together. Stay tuned.

You're so lucky to have trees! I would do anything to have something for the boys to climb on like I did when I was little! Ryan and I are actually thinking of looking in the Eldorado area in McKinney to have trees and be in an established neighborhood. Can't wait to see your pics!

I bet you are so excited to get unpacked! I would TOTALLY hire someone to do it for me. Okay...not really but it sounds like a good idea!
