House Preview And A Question

Ok, some initial pics.....still lots more to do.....but I thought I'd share a few for now.

Here is Carter climbing one of the trees behind the house.

Here is Blake handing him something, I believe, from the patio.....shows how large and lush the tree is.

The patio.....just a start.......haven't done a thing back here but place furniture. So many flowers to plants and beds to improve on. We have already eaten out here twice, though! It's completely shaded most of the time, so it's really comfortable.

A peak out onto the balcony from the dining room.

The playroom thus far.....nothing on the walls, but we stocked the shelves. So much to do!

The kids are in heaven. Lots of toys and games and most of all, books, in their reach. This room will double as the guest room because the couch folds out and there is a bathroom on this floor, too. Need to get a comfy rug and some window treatments.....etc.

The kitchen nook.....I'm sitting here now and love the view!

And, here is where I need help. This room is no where near done......still unpacking.....but need advice on how to use the canopy. We bought this enormous bed over a year ago and could not use the tall bed posts and canopy supports due to lower ceilings.

So, now I want to add fabric.....and there are many options.....and I have no doubt they will be better than Blake's,which is to cancel the fabric idea and put a plasma facing down on us. Said the guy who just loaded his 3,000 pound, 10 year old TV from college into our living room armoire. What world does he live in?!

Thoughts? Ideas? I need some inspiration!

What a great house! Those trees are AMAZING...so jealous! Someday....=) And those built ins...jealous again! The kids have books coming out of their ears but I ver have enough room for all of them!

What about hanging shear panels on the corners of your bed?

Casey, The house looks really cute and charming. You are such a busy girl! Great built-ins and trees. I think you're going to love it. And, can you believe you don't have to say goodbye to Blake for awhile? Yay!!!!

Looks like you've been living there for months!
What if you just loop sheer fabric through the slats..or whatever they are called...

I was thinking the same thing Fitz said, somehow loop sheer fabric through the slats. Not sure how, you may just have to play with it.

My mom is here helping me move in. When she looked at the picture she suggested mosquito netting or shear fabric looped between the slats. It doesn't have to be every slat. It could be every other one and it kind of drapes. Then, there is like a shear panel that drapes behind the bed. Also, go on "Divine Design" website and see what Candace Olsen would do...from HGTV!

I don't know, I kind of like the bed plain. Our bedroom is actually the same color walls and we have dark modern furniture. White duvet and brown accent pillows. I like things more simple. However, I do like the idea of draping white sheers like suggested by others. It just all depends on what look you are trying to go for. I am sure whatever you decide, it will be beautiful. The house looks super cute too! You and Shannon will have fun this weekend decorating and picking stuff out!
