Hmmmm ... antidisestablishmentarism is the longest word in the dictionary. Or it was when I was in highschool. And bookkeeper is the only work with three double letters consecutively.

If you ever come face to face with a cheetah you can feel safe knowing that he will not attack you (or eat you) if you are bigger than he is. And he weighs roughly 100 lbs. He will size you up and walk away. I learned this while petting a cheetah.

Facetious is one of only two words that has every vowel in it. In alphabetical order no less. (And I can't think of the other one right now..crap)

Yeah I know - everyone wants to be on my Trivial Pursuit team. LOL!

It is illegal to take more than three sips of beer at a time while standing in Texas. Did you know that? Makes no sense to me. Who makes up this stuff?

in salisbury maryland, only up to 7 unrelated girls can live in a house together, otherwise, it's considered a brothel...

The sentence "the quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog" uses every letter in the English language.

Or how about the thought that the average human eats 8 spiders in their lifetime at night.

GROSS!

Mythbusters did a show on folding paper and I believe they were able to fold it more than 7 times. And a girl tried this myth and was able to fold a piece of paper several times. It was toilet paper though.

LOVE useless fun facts. LOVE THEM. I learned a few this weekend. The Sears Tower bulding design was 1st thought up in during a meeting, when a Sears business exec pulled out a pack of cigarettes and started lining them up like they were a building...
Now I am drawing a blank. Can't think of other ones... love the pink flamingo fact!! Happy Monday!

oh, and 'jambo, wapi pambe' = 'hello where's beer' in swahili. just in case you ever need a beer in kenya... (it's probably highly incorrect grammar, but if you get desperate...)

Mine is like Tiffany's. No more than 3 unrelated girls can live together in Lubbock County or it is considered a brothel.
That is the reason we can't live in our sorority houses at Tech.
Weird.

no useless knowledge here. i take that back. i'm full of useless knowledge, but it's not interesting like yours is. and i keep meaning to try that whole gum/onion thing. maybe i should just keep the gum with the onions so i'll remember to use them together. but i'm afraid my gum will taste like onions.

SASS said...

Good tips here, Case. I did not know about the chewing of gum. Sophia stands in the kitchen when I cut onions just to watch me suffer. Ha! Not anymore!

Oh, so much it would make your head spin. Here is what I can tell you based on what I am currently teaching.
100 million sharks are killed a year for their fins. Most have their fin cut and sent their alive body back to the ocean to sink. All so that they can sell the fins for Shark Fin Soup, a once delicacy that is now on buffets.
And...
on 5 humans die each year from sharks, compared to the 150 who die from coconuts.

I like Blake's comment the best. Except I think it took me more like 10 minutes because I had to stop and ponder some of these "facts"

Here's mine: Dentist recommend that you keep your toothbrush at least 6 ft. away from a toilet b/c of airborne particles that may out during the flush.

Oh...also, if you watch Pulp Fiction...all of the clocks are turned to 4.20.
