La Jolla Vacation - Day 7 - The Disneyland Visit

This post will recap our day at Disney and also test your endurance. May be my longest ever. Hope you last til the end!

Caroline and I always discuss our favorite days on our trips.......and this was it! Disneyland is pure magic.

Caroline had several people ask what she loves.......LJ stands for La Jolla. I concur.

We strategically wait for Mickey to "appear" and then take the obligatory photo. You can't miss it, peeps!

The mouse wanted to meet Meow Meow. Celebrities can relate to each other, you know?

Priceless.

I think this is Goofy or Pluto. Always get them confused. Like Jack's tie? He chose it himself. It compliments his old man loafers.

The other one.

One of our favorites.....The Haunted Mansion.

Lots of help from the little punks.

Lunch time. Nothing like spending $56 on cheap burgers and mac n cheese.

Train!

Jack was smitten. It was worth the $600 we likely spent that day just to see him light up.

Cute Caroline.

Sisters!

Blake always braves this ride. It makes me nauseous just looking at it. He's a good sport.

Blurry pics, but I love their happy faces.....

Another obligatory photo........barfing after the tea cups.

Meow Meow waiting in line for the BEST RIDE EVER. It's A Small World.

Upon walking in the park, my flip flop broke. Like, broke so I couldn't wear it at all. So, I perused the Disneywear and settled on this darling Minnetonka Moccasins. Blake and Caroline made fun of me. They're coming back, yall. Just you wait.

It's A Small World. So sweet. Jack and Lainey are always speechless on this one......so much to see and hear.

Lainey wore her princess dress all day.

In Mickey's House.

I try not to get too schmoopy on this blog.......but my heart absolutely fills up with love when I see these two together. They have been buddies since the day Carter was born.

Time to wait for the parade!

Securing our spot. Which was later taken over by people squeezing in to get a better look. And, although we had waited an hour to get a good view, I was surprisingly forgiving. Caroline and Blake? Not so much. They were ready to tear into these ugly people, elbowing small children out of the way to see costumed adults dancing around.

With her hat on backwards, Caroline looks like she could rumble with the best of them!

I don't know.

Happy boys.

I couldn't have created this if I tried......princesses meeting and dancing in the streets.

Precious.

It finally starts!

They invite guests to walk out and dance from time to time. Carter tried, but looked unsure of himself, which is not a common thing for this kid. A cast member gave him a high five when it was over......this smiling, proud face is the result:

Conga line!

Nice look, Blake.

I bribed the kids to all sit, with ears on, for a few pictures. Totally worth it.

Love this one.

Silly one.

Our princess. Yall know I don't care for this term.......but she certainly was one.

Carter hangs all over Caroline when she's with us.

Chocolatears? Like we're eating Mickey's tears? If not, they'd spell it "Chocolateers", right? Weird.

Our favorite penny smashers.

I busted out the Ergo, much to Blake's (and Caroline's) dismay. Get over it, folks. She still fits. Jack, too.

Blake turned into a pre-teen once the little ones fell asleep. He and Carter ran from ride to ride while Caroline and I shopped Main Street. They did them all......Space Mountain, Big Thunder Mountain, Pirates, Indiana Jones, Splash Mountain, The Matterhorn, etc.

Tough guys.

Tried to play with my camera a bit and get some night time pictures.

Caught Caroline and Carter dancing.

Crashed. Like the ones on this post from last year.

Lovely Main Street. So fun.

I had to choose the little ones' souvenirs since they were asleep. Baby Minnie for Lainey and the Monorail for Jackie. They were both pleased when they woke up.

OK. Still here? It was a fabulous day. One for the record books. No one does it like Disney.

Love this post! It's like we were just there! That's because we were. =)

1. Jack's tie:
Freaking hysterical.

2. The princess meeting in the street:
Priceless

3. Carter still wearing the ears:
Love it. You are a lucky girl. Mine would have laughed in.my.face. if I had even uttered the words, "Let's all get some Mickey..."

You are so right. No one does it like Disney!

I LOVE..LOVE Disney!! Looks like I'll be going to the FL Disney in October for a visit!! sans Brad. I've yet to get him on the Disney bandwagon!
Love the pictures!! esp. the one of the kids posing in their ears! priceless :)

Casey! I cry at practically everything in my old age, including a few things in this post.

Disneyland! Gosh, I love Disney parks so much. Never thought Disneyland could live up to Disney World but it totally freaking does. So fun.

Jack's tie! I love his persistence to be his own little person.

Your outgoing kids! I'm so jealous of this. Mine will rarely let me even take a picture, let alone join in a parade.

Carter and Caroline! The sweetness kills me.

I love it.

Oh, crap!

The princesses in the street! That one too.

What fun!! I can't believe you can wear long sleeves and pants to Disneyland in July. You would die if you did that at Disney World. I is 100 degrees here with 100 percent humidity.

1 Goofy wears clothes, Pluto doesn't, HTH!
2. You know I won't make fun of you for the Ergo, Fiona still loves being worn and I imagine she will still at 2.5+
3. Love the sleepy "babies".
4 and the ears pictures!

I find it hilarious you don't know the difference between Goofy and Pluto. They do look similar, I never noticed!
I love these. For every reason everyone else noted. I especially like the teacups lit up at night. Your camera captured it well. Nobody does it like Disney- and no one does Disney like the Starnes clan!

Did I spy Caroline in the double stroller? And you say she was looking tough? Love it. You're so lucky to have fabulous sisters!

I'm dying over Jack's tie. That's so stinkin' cute...I can't stand it!!
Love to see Carter and Caroline together. They do have such a bond, don't they?? Awesome.

Still cracking up over Lainey in the Ergo. I don't blame you a bit. Love those things.

Love that Blake and Carter got to do the "big kid" rides after the punks fell asleep. So fun!

Great post, Miss Casey! But I do NOT think Pluto and Goofy look alike. Come on now..... And Pluto is smart. Goofy's a dumba**

I heart Disney and there is no other word for it better than magic. It was magical to be at 20, my first time and again when I took a 3 yr old Missy Mack. I can't wait to go back. I love all these pictures. The one with their ears that you love should be your Christmas card. Jack's tie is too funny. Your shoes must not be worn again unless you move to Austin, Berkley or Boulder. These are the only places I think they will be acceptable. I don't know Carter or Caroline but my heart melted on that picture. I am so sad your vacation is almost over because I have been loving it.

Looks like a fun day. My first thought on wearing flip flops to Disneyland was ouch. Weren't your feet killing you? Love Jack's tie and Lainey's princess dress.

I still don't know how you have time to do this while you are on vacation, but I'm glad that you do because I love looking at your pictures. Very fun.

Great pics! Looks so fun! And now you'll have to email your opinion re whether we really should make the hour and a half trek to Disneyland while we're in La Jolla in September with a two-year old...

Catching up on your trip and loving it. I have never been to CA but would love too. We are planning a trip to Disney World next year but Disney Land looks just as great!
