Update On The Jack-A-Roo

With the unknown weather approaching (and with feeling the piercing winds while picking Carter up from school), we decided to spend the afternoon indoors where it's safe and warm and wind-free!

I took a few pictures of Jack....at 6 1/2 months....he's such a sweet baby and very easy going. So far, I can find only 2 flaws in him. We've known the first since birth - he spits up more than any child ever born to this earth (besides my brother, Cody). Now, that problem seems to be improving a bit with the introduction of more solids and a switch to the Dr. Brown's bottles.

The second flaw is that he appears to be a picky eater!!!! And, since I refuse to raise a picky eater, I certainly have my work cut out for me. This baby will eat the typical Rice Cereal with Applesauce, Pears, etc.....and other than that, he prefers only Ham and Apples (together, mind you) jar food. AND NOTHING ELSE. He spits just about every other food out at me in an almost insulting fashion. Jack seems to be saying, "Right, Mom. Try it again and that will make me like it!" He'll teethe on frozen bananas and frozen waffles, biter biscuits, etc...but as far as jar baby food goes, it's only Apples and Ham for him!

I understand that some people are born with very specific tastes and preferences when it comes to food. And, I can work with that....as long as he eats healthy and doesn't request McDonald's french fries 3 meals a day. We were so spoiled by Carter in the food department. That child ate anything and everything we gave him...and to this day he has a very adventurous palate and I admire him for that. I mean, the kid loves calamari and recently tried sushi!!! Now, Jack....he is a darling boy with so many wonderful qualities....we'll just have to work on this difficult one!
