Our Little Bookworm

I took the little ones into the Target pharmacy bathroom to wash hands recently and returned to find our oldest like this.

He reads about 100 pages a day right now. We're constantly buying books, which makes me even happier about being close to a Half Price Books in KC, since we don't have them here.

That is awesome!!! My mother's always said, "I will buy you a book whenever you ask for as long as I live" and she still does.

I have adopted that rule at our house. If Bram sees a book that tickles his fancy, I buy it for him!

That is so great! Brooks is the SAME way! He reads big huge thick books in like 2 days. It's crazy and expensive, but oh well! He also is not a fan of the library. He wants his own library in his room of ALL the books he has ever read! We are running out of room.

I'm so jealous. I was like that as a kid, and I still love to read. But, Bryce, as smart as he is, doesn't read that much. I wish he did! That picture is priceless!

I like that....buying a book as long as they ask. Sweet. Heather, Carter wants his own, too....to see the fruits of his labor.....it makes him proud. I'm looking for a cute "this book came from the library of Carter" stamp. Any ideas?

Tammy.....this is a new development for us.....and I would have never seen it coming. Carter is super active and all boy.....for him to emerge into a bookworm is a surprise to us all....but, of course, I'm thrilled. Bryce may get there soon!

I'll send you a link to a stamp and a sticker for your own library. Actually, I think I might have one!

Just found your blog through an old high school friend of mine's blog-Meg at Whatever. We live in southern Johnson County and I wanted to wish you well with your move. If you have any questions (schools, Drs, etc.- let me know!) My husband and I both work here (my husband is a teacher and I am a nurse) and have two small children.
Best Wishes-
Kristy

He just started reading Diary of a Wimpy Kid. But, also loves Goosebumps and Captain Underpants. I've tried to get him into The Boxcar Children (b/c I loved it as a child), but he's more interested in the newer stuff. Mom is pretty lame.

For the stamp try Vistaprint.com. I use them for my Christmas cards and they have stamps, too for a really good price.

1/2 price books is great. i buy gift cards for borders/B&N and let the boys (connor)pick out their own and pay for it. Truthfully i can't wait for them to be older and reading so we can check them out from the library.
