I'm In The Mood For Love

I'm ordering Valentine presents and ready to make sugar cookies with the kids.

Bought these today:

And, I'm anxious to sit down with craft paper and glue and stickers and glitter......with the children......and make a mess.

I'm thinking of a special meal I can make for my valentine......something different......with wine and candles and not a child in sight.

And, the movies will be on TV soon.

One of my all time favorites, When Harry Met Sally:

And, this played mid-day yesterday. I indulged. It's precious. Oddly enough, I think I like Rita Wilson better than anyone in this movie. And, I LOVE Meg Ryan's house.

What is your favorite romantic comedy?

I'm hoping I can add Valentine's Day to my list this year.

Why doesn't it start until February 12th?!

I'm ready now.

Here's the trailer, in case you haven't seen it.

"Love is the only shocking act left on the planet."

I love that.

Boy, you are ready! I like that. I also can't wait to see Valentine's Day. They've got an all-star cast and I bet it's going to be great.

I don't have a favorite romantic comedy per se. I still love Sixteen Candles.

I love The Notebook...my favorite. I also like Can't Buy me Love!!

Have a wonderful Thursday,

We're making popup cards. Kids have always made their own.

Love movies? Eww.

I love Just Like Heaven. Mark Ruffalo is a pure genius in that movie, I think! I also love Serendipity....and any movie with Hugh Grant and/or Sandra Bullock!!

Our wedding anniversary is in February too, so Valentines Day usually takes a backseat to that....atleast while we're poor, ha! Someday I'll demand flowers twice in one month!! :)

I think Valentine's Day looks good too. When Harry Met Sally has been my favorite for years but it's a close tie with Sleepless in Seattle. I agree, I loved Rita Wilson in that movie...she was great.
Last week on a playdate we had our kids decorate their valentine boxes for our homeschool valentine party. There were no cookies but there was a mess...not at my house though. That will come soon enough!

I used to love Valentines Day. But now that I am all grown up I hate it. It is such an annoyance to me. I know...sad isn't it. I never know what to get Dave. He does not like candy or cookies. I feel silly giving him an Xbox game for Valentines Day. And I cannot stand going out to dinner that night. It is over crowded, over priced and everyone is wearing red. I like to stand out in a crowd and not blend in. I am not sure why I am such a Valentines scrooge. I promise I never had a bad one growing up. It was just more fun as kid. You got to make the little mail boxes and give out cards to all you friends. I liked that part of it.

I am wondering why it doesn't start sooner either..boohoo..
My favorite romantic comedy..well, two of them.
Under the Tuscan Sun and Pretty Woman!

Let me know if you come up with any good recipes for Valentine's Day with the hubby. I think it's my year to cook!

Can't wait to see how the kids decorate. Rita Wilson is my favorite in Sleepless too. Love that whole scene at the dinner table!

p.s. Blake might get excited when he reads the title to this post. Ooo-la-la!

Love them all - anything with Meg Ryan ... The Notebook was great too (I loved the book so much) .. what do you get your kids for VDay? I was trying to think of ideas. My mom always did something for us and does something for the girls too. For your Valentine what about steaks or bacon wrapped Pork Tenderloin (so easy and good).

My house is already decorated as well. Love it.

I made a date last night with my girls and we are going to see "Valentines Day" on the 12th.

Let us know what you plan for Blake for dinner. Ideas are needed.

And the Notebook... love it too!

I'm getting my decorations out this weekend; had to let get through the little man's bday.

My husband and I aren't big Valentine givers. Usually I get something for the kids, but Keith and I don't exchange gifts. Maybe a card if we are lucky. I think we go out to dinner some years.

I love it!!! I want to see that new movie too! We don't really do anything around here for V-day b/c my birthday is a few days after and things are cheaper then. But with kids, I gotta start. It's too fun not to! Ok, and my fav. part about Meg Ryan's house in that movie is that she can fit in her cabinet and that's where she talks on the phone. How funny would it be if we could do that? I'd hide there all the time if I could! I like you being my new "blogger" friend!!!

We are headed to Michael's this afternoon for materials to make our Valentine's for family! We have to get them in the mail by next week or they won't make it on time. Bring on the construction paper, glue, glitter, and heart shaped doilies! Love it!

You always get me excited for the next upcoming holiday. Can't wait to see that movie--the cast is amazing! Favorite movies--The Notebook, Love Actually. I love most romantic comedies--even the bad ones.

That looks so cute!
I love Hope Floats. I love anything with HCjr.
I also love When Harry Met Sally and all those Meg Ryan films.
The Notebook was far better as a book.
I love Valentine's Day.
My mom used to make this fancy chicken dinner with candle light on Valentines Day and made it special. I like the alone idea. Anything alone is good.
