Question Of The Week

It's no secret that I prefer the colder months. But, every now and then - during the snow and the freeze - I itch for summer.

I think Kansas is absolutely beautiful during the hotter months.

And, I enjoy gardening so very much.

We love to grill out on the balcony and hang out under the enormous trees that turn our little home into a tree house.

Summer picnics? Yes, please!

Eating outside on the patio? Indeed.

Pool time with the kiddos.....

Summer concerts in the park. One of our favorite things about suburban KC.

Worlds of Fun.......the log ride......heaven.

And, finally.......juicy watermelon from the Farmer's Market.

***What are you missing most? Plans for the summer?

I miss everything (except the bad storms) from summer. I hate the winters here in Missouri... not much snow and a whole lot of ice. Although it hasn't been too bad ice wise this year...I'm just not a big fan of cold weather. It's so hard to get warm once you are cold, but in the summer - there's always the pool or lake to take a dip in! ;)
I love your photo, btw!

No kidding, you totally have me itching for summer now... thanks, sis!

I miss sitting on the picnic blanket outside watching the kids play!

All of it. Cold makes me sad. I'm ok with the 60s and 70s predicted here this week though. My mood has noticeably lifted since the cold left.

All of the above! We enjoy a very similar summer -- a fabulous Farmer's Market, outdoor concerts and amusement parks. In fact, I just booked our trip to Adventureland in May. I can't wait! In a few years, we will head back to Worlds of Fun!

Cute pictures of the kiddos!

I was just saying today...I AM SO READY FOR SUMMER! Love summer. cannot wait!

I get the winter blues. everything dead and brown. ugh.. although it was a beautiful day here today and the forecast for the week calls for the top down on the pink slug bug! yippie!

I laughed a little at that pic of Lainey eating outside... that chicken piece is almost as big as she is!! Too cute!

Summer... wearing flip flops. I wear them with everything, to go everywhere. Love them. I am also excited for some tailgating down the street at Miller Park to cheer on my Brewers (which reminds me... those hot dogs look soooooo yummy). Milwaukee has the biggest music festival in June, Summerfest, and I can walk since it's so close to my apartment. Although... as I type this, I am now realizing I will not be in Milwaukee this summer... since I have a job back where I am from. Hmmm... that might put a cramp in some of these plans.

I miss the way all the houses of little people around us seem perpetually open. Ian and his neighbor buddies run from house to house, swingset to swingset, in bare feet and borrowed costumes.

At one house, they might snag a popsicle, at another, a peek at a Scooby cartoon. I love the community feeling we get in the summer!

I'm missing my KC visit most. I think I'm coming for the entire summer this time. Think Ryan would mind???

It was in the 70's here today...so I don't really have much to miss except maybe the rain, humidity and hurricanes. I can live without those things.

Ooh! I love a good white winter but your summer picture are enticing!

I can't wait to camp, garden and spend more time outside that we do in when we are at home.

Have a great week!

I miss the summer too, but I am enjoying these winter activities we are getting to experience! I will miss being at home this summer and enjoying the lake, the pool at my parents, and hanging with my friends who are off during the summer!

I am sure this summer will bring many new adventures for us in Calgary. Lots to explore! Can't wait!

Grass is always greener, isn't it? No pun intended.
Laine and that chicken! Haha.
I miss going for jogs to the park with Josie. Climbing trees and singing to my ipod, not caring who hears. I miss going to summer classes on an empty campus. Parking spots galore (that's your word, I'm not completely comfortable using it).
Now I miss it. Damn you.

Usually I never complain about the Winter, but this one is kicking my arse. I seriously cannot wait for it to be over. Cannot wait for Farmer's Market season and the lazy, hazy days of summer.

Summer in TX? I don't miss it so much....When it gets to 95 and 100, I'm out. Hate it.

But...the one thing I do miss about summers is going to the lake! My favorite. Can't wait to get Hudson an itty bitty lifejacket this year and let him experience that. So fun!

I miss longer hours of sunlight, maxi-dresses, flip-flops, and outdoor dining. Do I sound like a personal advertisement? I enjoy long walks on the beach.

My pretty potted plants, sitting on the back porch, the kids playing on the golf course and Adam cooking out.

It is what we do every single night. After we return from the pool, of course. Can't wait.

Oh, and sundresses and flip flops.

I'm with Coco--sundresses and flip flops(although I wear flip flops almost year round). I miss days at the beach with the kids. . . they are always so exhausted by the time we leave. Dining outside and the sun setting later into the evening.

I miss the long lazy days of summer. Hanging out on the deck with the neighbors and watching all the neighborhood kids run and play barefoot.

Is that red and blue thing a fake bug?? The only thing I really miss about Summer is having more hours of daylight. I much prefer the weather of Winter (I live in Southern California so Winter isn't that extreme)

The blog hop was really cool and I can't wait to do it again this week.

Becca - the bug is fake....a porcelain mold for plant holders. I love that creepy thing.

Caroline - Ryan will be fine with it! I'm positive.

Sara - I'm totally on board with that mentality.....summers in Texas are super hot!

I miss water activities and love going to the beach. I love letting Cason play on his waterslide and baby pools. Can't wait!

He broke his arm in July last year so he only got to enjoy summer for about 6 weeks. I'm looking forward to enjoying all those things with him this year.
