I have found my new mantra in life. Found it here. I'd like a 4 ft x 6 ft rendition of this for above our mantle. Isn't it lovely?

Finally took a shot of my hair when it's curly. I had to do it myself b/c Blake sees no advantage to decent angles or lighting. I don't like this shot, but it will have to do.

I feel like I look a lot like this most of the time.

Or, this. Plain and simple: I have too much hair. But, I'm working on it.

Pa's visit was a ton of fun, as always. We tried to book a harbor cruise, but were too late. Hopefully soon. We ventured down to the cute shops and restaurants along the water, anyway.

Love this picture. Look how tall Carter is!

Everyone agreed this would be Jack's boat one day. Hmmm....

At dinner.....

I love when we can see our kids in each other. This is a Carter look:

And, Jack:

And, true to herself, Lainey:

The fam.....wait. What is Lainey doing?

Let's take a closer look at that. Nice. Modeling agencies, line up!

Grabbed some ice cream after dinner and headed to the beach.

We wrote Pa's name in the sand.

And, played some football.

I love our lives here in California. (Sass, those are your Lainy's boots!)

Lainey found a crab and showed it to Pa. She has quite an imagination.

Speaking of, Lainey's sleeping habits are less than desirable these days. I don't believe in children "dropping their naps". I feel like that's our choice and not theirs. But, Lainey turned 3, we moved to San Diego and suddenly she has no interest in sleep. Went in recently to find this:

"Don't wordy, Mom! Der LEESES for da kitties!" Oh, yes. This makes it much better.

Artichokes cost $1 here. Yum.

And, wax lips are cheap, too! Look at our little vampires.

That's a wrap, folks! We're headed to walk the surf shops this afternoon in downtown Oceanside and then will watch the sunset on the beach. Life is good.

What haters?

Laine - so precious! I've always thought she and Carter looked so much alike. Now that she's Big Girl Laine, it's even stronger fo sho.

We do the same thing with artichokes here. The boys LOVE it.

Lainey is a hoot, Casey. Makes life fun!

Pa is such an awesome grandpa.

My favorite way to eat artichokes here too. Jealous of the cheap, fresh produce. I want to move to Cali :(

Loving your hair!! Looks so good - both curly and straight. Darling.

That pic of Lainey cracked me up. We have some similar ones of Hudson like that. WTH?? Your punks are starting to look more and more like each other.

Love the beach pictures-as always. Fun times.

Love that Pa has been to see you all lots lately!

The pic of LC with her fingers up her nose is great. You're always so good at capturing real moments.

I think Carter may be taller than me soon.

Cali life is treating you all well. :)

You're so good at writing how they talk. Don't wordy! Love it. Lainey girl, I miss you. So glad she's wearing our Lainy's boots! Lainy to Lainey.
Carter is looking older (and more like Pa!) by the day and Jack in the last picture is DARLING. His hair is so suave.
Your hair? Badass. Wish I could see it in person. Last time I saw you you had braids!

No specific haters, Shannon. Just ugly people in general.

Articokes like that were on sale for $6.50 EACH last week! Can I say JEALOUS???

I was laughing so hard at this post from your comparisons of your hair to the Lainey's fingers up her nose and so damn proud of it that Brian pushed me out of the way and started to read. We both had a good chickle .. thanks we needed that at that moment too!!

So glad you had another wonderful visit with Pa!
