Snow Day!!!!

We can't believe it. For the first time since we moved here, Carter has a "snow day" and no school. They've put us on a "delayed start" once before....when there was 6 inches of fresh snow on the ground. Today, we're closed because there is blowing snow and wind. Only expected to get 3-6 inches by tonight.

We've heard from several people that the snow we're getting this year is really unusual. Typically, our area can expect a handful of significant snow storms...meaning 4-5 a season. We've had that many already and aren't half way through the winter yet. Supposedly, this is the 4th highest year for snowfall in about 100 years. We've heard about the storm in 2003, the Christmas blizzard of 1982 and then well before that as well.

So, no surprise there. Our family rarely does anything normally. It seems right that we arrive this year. We're enjoying it!
