American Girl

Still catching up from our Dallas trip. While in town for Brad's wedding, we visited the American Girl store. Steve and Terri had planned a special gift for Lainey and so we ventured out to tour the store and pick up her surprise.

The mecca.....and yes, it was all it should have been and more.

How cute is she? I can only imagine her thoughts....."All for me. All these babies for me."

Upon entering, Jack took a moment to check it all out, walked briskly over to me and said, "Mom, dis place got trains?!"

Sorry, son.

Behold the doll salon. Yes, those are grown women cutting dolls' hair per request and most often to mimic the child receiving the doll. Upstairs houses a bistro in which your dolls are seated in their own high chairs. I bet they'll let you order for them, too!

Lainey cruised around and loved it all.

This might surprise you, but Jack and Lainey did not agree on who should push the double stroller.

I'll give you one guess who won.

Mae Mae helped......there was a lot to see! They didn't know which direction to turn.

The intended gifts and final choices.......twins......aka......Jack and Lainey. Mae Mae wanted to get them for Lainey because they look so much like her and her "twin". I think they do!

Carter and Maci.

We left with the twins and Britney treated Lainey to a kitty for her dolls. I grabbed a picnic set for two, which will be saved for Christmas. Really cute stuff. A shopper could lose her mind with such sweetness.

Love this.....

On our way out. Babies in tow.

Two of the three bags we left with.

Thank you, Jack. Such a helpful punk when he wants to be.

Lunch shortly after with Pa, Britney and kids.

Look who was lucky enough to join us. Lainey thought they were adorable.

We loved every minute. Although every trip to Dallas won't include a visit to American Girl, hopefully we'll see more of it in our future. Such a very special place for little ones.

Check out your local Michaels near the end of this week. We have launched an American Girl Crafts line!

Did Lainey name the babies Jack and Lainey?

I ordered an American Girl gift card online years ago and I still get their catalogs two or three times a year. I don't have much use for them but I always flip through them to see all the new stuff.

She did name them Jack and Lainey! Or rather, Yainey. Other babies don't have names.....they're just "baby"....but these are Jack and Yainey.

So VERY, VERY cute! I would have loved this as a kid too. I was so into babies.
FAO Schwartz in NYC has a similar area...except it's a baby ward with employees dressed up as nurses.
You can go in and pick out your baby. Even as an adult I got giddy!

SO cute. Lila has the Itty Bitty Baby from AG and LOVES her and all the accessories - oh my, that's the best part! I can't wait to take her to the store.

I love the one in Chicago. My daughter has the Bitty Twins, The Bitty Baby, and even an American Girl Doll. She is 7 and loves them all still. Your kids are so darn cute!

Way too cute! How sweet is Carter holding Maci?? He is such a sweet kid, Casey. I am hoping to visit this store sometime soon. There is one in LA and I am wondering when I should venture up with Ellery. I went to the one in Chicago before we had children and could not believe how over-the-top it all was!
