Our Thankful Turkey

I know. I know. My artistic abilities overwhelm you. Try to look past the sheer art value of this piece and instead further into the craft itself.

We create this turkey every year.....obviously, by hand.....out of construction paper....it's very easy to do. Each day, each kid adds a feather including what he/she is thankful for. By the time Thanksgiving arrives, we have a fully fluffed turkey with blessings galore.

I love this simple craft because it gets kids thinking about how much they have to be grateful for.....including the small things......and hopefully they'll take that into the Christmas season ahead.

I love this craft! And my girls do, too! It's fun to think of the things they're thankful for and reminded of how lucky they really are!

I love this idea! It's not a bad idea for adults to do either...to remember what we have to be thankful for! As always...you're the best mom!

I love this craft and I am so glad that you introduced it to me last year.

My turkey is way uglier than yours, promise.

Last night, Bram was thankful for his hair. Yeah. Tess just stared at me blankly, so I put she was thankful for her mom's beauty.

What a great idea!!! I am going to buy some construction paper and haver Dave make one. I will even tell him what he should be thankful for....my cooking, my cleaning...and everything else I do while he sits on the couch watching football.

What a great idea! Can I still do this if Hudson can't speak yet??? I can make up all sorts of things he's thankful for...kind of like Coco did! I like this craft even more now!!

Loved this idea when you posted about it last year, so I tucked it away in my crazy head. We will be stealing this from you, hope you don't mind. I hope to get mine going this week.
