La Jolla Vacation - Day 11

Pa arrived on Friday. He had business in the area and then stayed with us for a few days. We met him in San Clemente......with Bob, Donna and kids. Had lunch at one of our favorites, Wahoo's Fish Taco. So nice to get everyone together!

We said goodbye to our California family and headed back to La Jolla. Saw this sign at a rest stop on the way. Awesome.

Saw this, too. Love that.

We got settled at the beach house with Pa and then headed to Coronado Island for a party for my friend's husband, Ed, who retired from the Navy after 22 years.

Crossing the bridge is always an event for this family.

Lainey said, "Don't wordy, Pa. Don't be scared. I hold you hand." And, she did.

I absolutely love this picture.

And, see? Jack's not the only one who enjoys a good loafer. Carter and Pa do, too!

Here is the retiree......all military guests were in uniform. I guess I pointed that out a few too many times. I also noted that I felt like I was in the middle of the Top Gun movie. Blake's response, "Yeah. All we need is a shirtless volleyball game on the beach, right?" I was going to ask Ed, but Blake said I couldn't.

It was nice to have Pa there to help keep the kids busy.

They had a crew making tacos......rolling fresh tortillas......they were delish.

Ed's wife, Melissa and me. She photographed us last year and we've remained friends since. Very cool girl.

I love a party you can ride your bike to.

We headed to our favorite beach after......and found this fabulous wedding taking place right in front of the Del. We admired from afar.

Played a bit in the sand and then headed to Babcock and Story's for cocktails and food.

Carter's pic.

Toured inside and out......then home for bed. Big day on the beach following!

The face pic of Carter and Pa is great! You should definitely print it for Carter's room.

Can't believe you went to Wahoos without me.

So many great pictures....love the one you love, and the last two are precious. I always feel proud to be an American amongst our military men/women.....cheesy, but true.

Awwww Lainey offering to hold Pa's hand! That girl. She's got me. Every time I see a picture of her and Pa, I get her catchy song stuck in my brain. "Pa Pa Pa Pa"
I hope it's stuck in yours now.
