Praise For Blake

Alright, everyone. This party will be over soon enough. I mean, I have much more important things to post about. Batman in his bumble bee Halloween costume, for one.

Or, how completely mismatched and awkward our kids look for Halloween this year.

But, before I do, Pa asked me to share his kind words with blogland.

From Pa:

Blaker, Congratulations on your New job....just doesn’t quite cut it!

This has to be the most unbelievable display of good work, good character, good karma, good timing...that I have ever seen in my life !

For all us who have done that very thing, we salute you......from a cold beer in La Jolla, to packing up your life in KC, cramming your belongings into a rented Van, buckling up the kids and heading westward from Kansas City across country to a fate unknown.

......... on a wing and a prayer, just following a dream.

For every man that sat on that beach, with that cold beer, watching the sun set into the ocean and wished for more for his life and family ...... YOU are our New HERO !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Other than when you were about 7 and you won the YMCA Derby Day Fastest Car Trophy....I could not be prouder of you than I am right now!

Much Love to you from all of your family and friends back home in Texas.

Home of the Fantastic Texas Rangers and the sorry-ass Cowboys !
Dad

Thanks, Pa.

And, then I asked Grant, one of Pa's best friends, if I could share this with you all, too. Grant summed up his computer expertise and blog knowledge in one fine sentence......"Yes, post it and then tell me where the blog is. Explain it to me like I'm a 6 year old."

Well, Grant, if you can see this, you're on what we call the WORLD WIDE WEB. Al Gore invented it. Useful for all sorts of things......browse a bit and stay a while. Next, we'll work on saving sites to your favorites and then you can check in anytime!

Seriously, though......we appreciate your kind words. So proud of Blake!

From Grant:

Blake,

Am just amazed that you had the internal fortitude to make the move, jobless, in a down economy, to one of the most beautiful places in the world…. All on the belief that you were doing the right thing.

You are everyman’s hero for following your dreams in moving there… and even if it hadn’t turned out perfectly, you had still been everyman’s hero for doing it, as few men take the chance and place themselves in a position to succeed, and excel, as you did.

The fact that you did it, and to get the job… and to have it turn out as it did… is absolutely mind blowing, AMAZING, SPACTACULAR, COLLOSUL, and EPIC.

Cheers to you and your lovely wife, for taking the chance, and making it happen.

You give us all hope that we can still live our dreams as well.

PS> I did tell you that Carlsbad/Oceanside is my favorite place? I did tell you that I took my family down there for a week, and we stayed at the Hawaiian Village ½ block from the ocean, and looked at houses….

Maybe we can be neighbors when I move down there and work at my corp. office.
Grant

Thanks, Grant!

From Ross:

A special story for a very special family. Nothing can hold back a Starnes. Determination, hard work, faith, some of that good old Texas charm and a cold beer, is the Starnes DNA.

Thanks, Ross!

OK, back soon with some scoop on the punks and I promise not to say one nice thing about Blake.

Sorry, Brown Eyed Girls Mom! I added some pics for your viewing.

No need to compliment again, guys. This post was simply to share Pa's note as he requested and then the others came with it.

Honestly...this is just so crazy how it all worked out! Honestly, I may have been one of the "what are you thinking" people, but I knew also that you would figure it out. Honestly not many people would chance it....

Now, onto Pa...I'm drooling...He's cute, he writes nice things, he can sing and play the guitar, he is great with kids...I love him...back up Heather...I will take you down!

Congrats Blake! I must say that it took a ton of courage for you and Blake to pack up your family and move to California. At least you had the courage to follow your dreams. Too many people give up or just quit trying! Here's to your success as a family!
