Technology

Last night, after we put the kids to bed, Blake and I sat down to watch the rest of the Golden Globes. Neither of us care too much about award shows, but I was thrilled to see Meryl Streep win for The Devil Wears Prada. She is one of the best and one of my favorites, next to Diane Keaton, of course.

Anyway, we were both watching and both had our laptops out, partially working, partially playing....when I looked at my yahoo inbox to find an email from my husband, sitting 8 feet away from me, asking me "What's going on?"

Seeing as he also had his blackberry next to him, and I my cell phone, we were smothered with technology...and he resorted to email to get my attention. Part of me wanted to laugh and part of me wanted to throw the computer out the window.

So, I'm making a pact to cut down on electronics during family time and when it's just Blake and me. It seems that so many parts of our lives are now run by computers or playstations or cell phones. Just last night, we found Carter's Gameboy after months of it being lost since we moved. Shortly after the discovery, Carter disappeared with it and we didn't see him again until bedtime.

I think it's time to break out the board games and whatever else it is we did before all of these devices took over our lives. I will continue blogging, of course, as I have always tried to do that when the kids are napping or busy with something else.

Wish us luck!

OK, I was just telling my mom the other night that I just Love every movie that Diane Keaton is in! I can't wait to see the new one where she has the big birthday coming up and she is driving her 3 daughters crazy! I also love Meryl Streep...so great in Devil wears Prada!!

Did you read the book? It out does the movie ten fold. So good. Her second book is good, too...."Everyone Worth Knowing".

Nothing that's going to change your life, but fun pool-side reading! That's all I did last summer...read while Carter swam and Jack slept!

I can't read...well, I can read People Magazine, but that's all my pea sized brain can handle...
