I suppose we romanticized it and forgot about the hard work and mess it brings in.....slippery roads, native drivers who have no patience for recently transplanted Texas ones (because OH MY GOSH, how do I drive in this?), sludgy winter boots, more clothes to wash after playing outside, lots of wet floors, crying Jack when it's time to come in....and crying Blake while he has to shovel the driveway.
All worth it, though!
