Planting mums......crimson, yellow, orange, purple......so many pretty colors this time of year. Another fun thing to do with children!
It helps to have a buddy like Lainey when working on yours.
Let the boys play on scooters and such......they don't have as much interest. Remember, Jack is my chef. His specialties are in the kitchen. Carter was just along for the ride.
Did you know dirt could be so fun?
And, a few days later, they started to open up and the blooms are lovely.
Place small gourds or pumpkins in with the dirt to fill space and add a little fall touch. I learned this from Martha years ago and love it.
I like to cluster lots of potted plants around our front porch.....in all seasons.....but especially Fall.
Don't forget the orange lights. I love the warm glow at night. And, no, that's not a Halloween prop. It's Batman trying to make a run for it. Silly kitty.

Can Lainey come plant some flowers at my house?!?! Too cute!
Looks so pretty! We have three empty pots with dirt just for the kids to play in.
My mums are all dead? What did I do wrong?
Casey,
Stop being perfect and creative. You're making me look bad.
Love,
Sass
Very nice! Love the pics. Miss Lainey looks like she is having a ball on the "Farm!" (Sorry, that still cracks me up.) Oooh, and I'm sooo loving the new header!!!!!
What a big helper Lainey is! I plan on getting some mums out too before all my gals get here in November. :)
I love mums!!! I have fake ones I bring out every fall. I don't think I could keep real ones alive.
Coco - your mums are dead b/c you live in Texas. I struggled with mine there, too. They're tempermental little suckers.
Sass - sorry. I'm working on it. Promise.
lookadat LSU flag! looks like home. :) mums die on me. lainey needs to come help my little one plant!! planting blog playdate! haha
Cute pictures! My kids love to dig in the dirt too!
I wish I was as talented as you. I never know what plants to pot with what when you do a grouping. My 1 mum is dying too. Can I please blame it on Texas also??? I'm sure it's not because I haven't watered it! ;)
Heather - it's not talent. I really don't know what I'm doing. I experiment each season and try different combinations. I love gardening.
So many fall faves...I love them all! The apple orchid sounds/looks amazing. Great find Case! We planted some flowers this week too.
