Why I Luv Southwest Airlines

Monica recently wrote about how she loves this airline and I do, too.

Here's why:

The safety instruction speech is more often than not, quite interesting to listen to. Every part has some sort of joke tied in. My favorite from a recent flight (paraphrased):

"Above you, you'll find the oxygen mask......if you're traveling with children, put the mask on yourself first.....choose the child with the most potential, start with him first and then work your way down. Go ahead, take a good look and have a game plan."

Yes, he said just that. Wicked and wrong, but pretty darn funny.

Hmmmm. I cannot deny that they are funny over there and they make me insanely jealous with their cute khaki shorts and pants AND TENNIS SHOES. All the while I have on my ugly polyester and navy tights. Yes, I said tights.

I was on a SWA flight from Lubbock to Dallas one time. It was really snowing hard, and we had to de-ice twice before making it to the runway. While the plane was traveling down the runway to take off, one of the flight attendants came on the PA and started chanting, "I think I can, I think I can, I think I can...." The whole plane joined in and cheered when we finally got off the ground! Even though we were an hour and a half late, it made everyone relax a bit and have a good laugh!

I have traveled on most major airlines domestically and overseas, and SWA is by far the best airline around!
