Morning, peeps!
Let's kick off the week with some info on the Book Club. Several people showed interest, so I spent some time over the weekend thinking about what book we should read. I'm hoping to choose some friendly options.....and some that will span over many tastes. Feel free to comment or email me with suggestions.
I chose Eat Pray Love by Elizabeth Gilbert for many reasons. One of which is that I want to re-read it. It's been 4 years since I first enjoyed it. And, I've forgotten parts. I know the story.....most people do......this is not a spoiler.......it's one woman's quest (true story) for spiritual enlightenment during a significant period of change in her life. To do what she did would be fantastic. And, I'll never have that option. So, I'll follow her journey instead.
It's also coming out in movie-form this summer. And, it looks delicious.
This book can be found just about anywhere.......your library, Target, Half Price Book Store, garage sales, etc. It's been popular for years. Here is the link to Amazon if you need it. Hundreds of used copies starting at $.99 + shipping.
So, are you in?

OK. The rules. The first rule of the book club is you don't talk about the book club. Sorry. Had to.
No rules.......let's all enjoy the book and I'll post a "review/question/answer" summary at the end of May. 6 weeks to read......hope that's a good amount of time. And, if you've already read it, feel free to pretend you're doing so now and I won't know the difference come discussion time.

Yes, yes. A whole world of Yes.
I am in...but maybe not for this book. I am sure I am the only one...but I started and didn't finish...maybe i'll try again. I am not even sure I kept it. Plus, I am in the middle of another book right now.
is brad pitt circa 'the year of fight club' involved in this in any kind of way? and will he be naked? and not just any naked but, sweaty 'fight club' naked? just asking.
i will try to read--God knows i pick that book up just about every time at Borders--but end of the semester will probably dictate otherwise.
poop.
How super fun....What a great book to pick, I have been thinking about reading it after I seen the buzz about the movie they are making with Julia Roberts!
Thanks for the tip that Geese do not like their feeding bothered maybe that explains why the one disliked me so LOL.....
xoxo
Summer :0)
In in! Placing an Amazon order in the next few days, so I'll add this one in! Thanks!
I'm doing a Book giveaway on my blog, so check it out!
I am going to find the book this afternoon! I am excited about this - should be fun!
I'm in, but I guess you knew that!:)
I'm in. I made a note to look for it the next time I go to the Library.
I'm in. I've read most of it, but like Jen I got sidetracked and quit. Need to go back and re-read and finish the whole thing.
I've been hearing a LOT about this book. I'm intrigued. I may need to go pick up a copy.
oh, i wish i felt up to it... sounds like fun! i just can't commit b/c of my inability lately to finish a single book (sadly i have been working on just ONE book since january, no lie).
but i'll get you next time, gadget... next timmme...
(sorry, obscure inspector gadget reference. i am weird.) hopefully at least!
Oh, I just can't wait for the movie. I am in.
I started it and left it on a vacation never to start it again so I will re-read and finish.
Awesome.
I'M IN! I need a new book anyways. I'll be back May 27th, so don't start without me!!
I'M EXCITED.
i'm totally in!!!! and i love julia roberts, is it sad that she helped convince me i HAD to read this? haven't even seen the whole preview yet. kids' bath making too much noise. going to find the book online right now!!!! thanks for starting this!
can we do the "no carb left behind" diet too? cause i'm ALL for that! : )
I'm going to try my best to read it!
EXCELLENT book. I will try to reread this after classes are done so I am fresh for the discussion. And I can't wait to see the movie!!
I'm in. And Casey- we should do a get together for anyone that leaves in the KC area. I used to be in one in Montgomery and I miss it so much. I love doing it online through the blog, but what so you think about doing a longer one in person?
Yes, I've been wanting to read this book for a long time. Perfect. Thanks! This will be fun:)
I have not read this book in several years, but I am sure a review wouldn't hurt. I am in.
The only thing I read for pleasure is blogs so this will be somewhat of a stretch but I am in :)! Thanks for hosting!
I am in, I just found it at the Leawood branch of the JOCO library. I've been wanting to read this for a while!
Great pick...love this book. Thanks for visiting me the other day. xoxo
Okay! I'm off today. Hopefully, Gulf Breeze Library has it! I'm in. Kelly
Already read it...I will keep my comments to myself and wait for the next book. Interesting note, the author was paid a $200,000 advance before she went on her trip of self-indulgence, I mean self-discovery. Makes one wonder whether the journey inspired the content of the book, or the book/huge amount of money inspired the journey?
Oh that is so cool Julia is playing in the movie. Outstanding. As for the book club, I will try....
I might join in on this after the wedding when I have time to read...maybe the next book!! Sounds fun!
I'm in. I loved this book and have wanted to reread it.
