Movie Reviews

Still escaping at least once a week for some toddler-free time at the movies. Cheapest therapy around. Give it a try. My sister, Ceason, loves to tease me because I go alone....and now prefer to go alone. Best way, I promise!

Inglourious Basterds - Fantastic. Gory and a few too many scalpings for my comfort level, but very clever and very Tarantino-esque. I thought my love died for him with Reservoir Dogs (still one of the best soundtracks ever), but no. I loved it.

And, Brad Pitt? He was adorable. Blake loves to tease me about him being a celeb crush and he's not.

Benecio del Toro? Yes.

Brad Pitt? No.

I married a pretty boy. Why would I need a crush on Brad, too?

Orphan - Knew the twist. Not impressed. Weird and not in a good way. I like weird. I didn't like this.

The Time Traveler's Wife - I really wanted to like this movie and I, unfortunately, did not. Have heard great things about the book and I adore Rachel Adams. But, it didn't play out well....it was confusing.....and didn't make a lot of sense to me. Maybe if I had some prior knowledge of the story, it would have helped.

I really wanted to see 500 Days of Summer, but have heard it's terrible. Anyone?

My brother loved Inglorious. I want to go see it, maybe something Adam and I can agree on.

Time Traveler's Wife is in my stack of reading material. Want to read it first before I see the movie.

Can't believe you went and spent money on Orphan. That was really stupid.

Don't judge. Sometimes a crappy movie can be good. It's 2 hours away from the madness....I'm not always picky!

I am so not a fan of Brad Pitt - no celeb crushes on him for me. I haven't seen a movie in the theater in ages. We just do Netflix now when the girls are in bed.

I am just so happy that I know of someone else who lives going to the movies by herself! I get alot of slack for it...but I can sit where I want, not have to share my popcorn, etc. I too see it as 2 hours of uninterrupted peace and quiet!

Now, I haven't been in a long time. I'm disappointed about Time Traveler's wife...I was hoping that would be good! I love her as well...will still go see it...

Brad Pitt had me when he was Tristan, but has gone downhil since then for me...

I heard 500 Days of Summer was great from a few people. To each their own though.

Perhaps I'll wait for Time Traveler's Wife to hit the VOD!

Thanks Casey!

I meant to ask you if you saw Ingloriuos. We saw it last weekend. Very Tarantino...even in the first few seconds you could tell. I liked it but agree little more bloody than I prefer...but still good movie...the Jew Killer guy was awesome

I agree about The Time Traveler's Wife. My friend and I saw it this past weekend and seriously considered leaving. I thought it was going to be a great love story sorta like the Notebook. I love Rachel McAdams too {my hubby jokes I have a girl crush on her!} Like you said, it was confusing, not realistic, jumped around too much to really get into the love story. I am telling everyone to save their $ and time and not go see this one.

I don't typically like blockbuster type movies and tend to like independent films instead. Planning to see 500 Days of Summer this weekend. I'll let you know how that goes.

I too love to see movies alone. I don't get to go near enough....i saw one this summer. I usually prefer no brainers though. Maybe next week I can get one in while the boys go to mothers day out.
