Hoots And Howls

While Blake was busy repairing a sweet old lady's house in Kansas City during his Christmas in October charity project, I took the kids to the zoo for Hoots and Howls. It was a really cute event with a lot of activities perfectly suited for our 3.

Lainey had on her precious dress from Mae Mae, so I tried for a photo. Right after, I asked myself, "Why do I try?"

Obviously, something was entirely more exciting to Jack and Lainey.

And, then, after my prompting to scoot closer, Jack tried to put his arm around Lainey.

Wrong move.

OK, so we ventured over to the pirate ship. Super cute and Jack LOVED it.

Spooky stuff to see inside, but not scary or intimidating to the little ones. Well, OUR little ones. Normal kids might have been bothered.

Enjoyed the shark and octopus additions.....naturally.....because we're at the zoo!

Hula Hoops next.

And, a hayride! Check out the vest, ladies. Sizzlin.

Hayridin' through the zoo.....kids loved it.

How precious is the guy standing behind us?

Because it was chilly, we ventured into more indoor exhibits than we normally do.

Another favorite....."tractor bikes".

Sweet Carter helped Lainey.

Inside to the Tropics Conservatory. It's humid in this building...a stark contrast to the cold outside.....thus the blurry pics. Another attempt by Jack.....he got his arm around Carter instead. Sweet boy.

Not sure what this face on Lainey is all about. Goofball.

Love this pic. Racing tractor bikes on our second visit to this area.

Lainey Bug trying so hard.

Here she is asking Carter to help. Our little shrimp can't reach the peddles. Meanwhile, Jack is circling madly through the hay bales.

If you watch Dora the Explorer, please conjure up "Reach, Reach!" This is what Lainey says in situations like this.

Eventually, she gave up and pushed the tractor.

On our way out, we ran into the Kansas City Fire Department guys and a fire truck. This automatically equates to fun, fun, fun for this crew. They sat inside, rang the bell, played with tools and tried on the gear. Jack was so excited when he got the boots on.

Precious Carter.

KCFD.

Another failed attempt. 3 looking and 3 smiling? We're still years away. And, that's OK. Because when they're all cooperative, they'll be older than they are now. I like them little.

Too cute! The failed attempts crack me up. And the Dora reach. Little Laine's face is priceless trying to get to those pedals.
And, side note, I'm not sure precious is the right word for the guy in the background.
But, you are SIZZLIN in that sexy getup!
