I'm Learning

Sometimes you have to leave this:

And, do this:

Because it makes them so happy.

Chew slowly, Laine. Savor the playdough.

Aren't those scratches on our table nice? They're not all from projects like these. Some are from dinner time, too, when toddler forks somehow slide off their plates and into writing utensils.

Surprisingly, I don't care.

We've had that table for 10 years and I will feel lucky in 16 more.....when my nest is empty and I'm left with a scratched up table. And, memories galore.

Look how happy she is with her "bebes!"

It really is the little things.

I didn't say I am good at it.....but I'm learning.

i think these things all the time.

the other day, I was pushing my very heavy and full to the brim basket out of costco and I was just so thankful that I had lots of mouths to feed with all of this stuff. it will be quiet and lonely when they are all gone and grown.

I am learning too. Our kitchen table is full of scratches and stickers. It makes me crazy but we are making memories!

So sweet. Playdough is SUCH a beating but they love it so.

And painting.

And using scissors.

And paper maiche.

You get the picture.

Love this! You know, I feel the same way about the scratches. Just go with it...no sense in buying a new one only to have it replaced.

This is a lesson that I am always having to re-learn, sadly. I have a hard time just sitting on the floor and playing with my kids....my imagination isn't very good, and I get bored! But when I look at their faces and smiles....it's allll worth it!!!
And as far as furniture....yeah, NONE of our furniture is new or nice, so we don't have those worries yet!!
