College

Our niece, Lindi, leaves for college tomorrow and hearing about her preparations has made me super nostalgic for my time at LSU. My years in Baton Rouge rank up there with the best of them......so much freedom and fun and a whole new part of the country to explore....I was beside myself with excitement. I loved it all.

Just as I'm reminiscing and thinking back to simpler days of dorm life and meal plans and that lovely Louisiana mentality, Froggity throws out a post that I dare say could be my favorite of all time. Check it out here and then say a prayer for Lindi as she takes on this next challenge!

Great post, incredible writing. I went to UTA, a commuter school and lived at home. I sometimes feel like I missed out, but it's all I could afford to do. Your posts bring me visions of how I always thought of it to be in the movies!

My college experience was just that.....went potluck with my roommate....went to a school where I knew no one....lived in the dorm.....was in a sorority.....lots of frat parties......met friends for life. I loved every minute of it!

I understand what you're saying, though. I paid my way, too.....not easy. I got in-state tuition after a semester and I always had a job - usually full time. Certainly helped.

Great post by Froggity. Reminds me of LSU!! Best school out there by far! There is nothing like walking through the quad on a sunny day, studying under the beautiful oak trees, walking the lakes, going out with friends to Bogie's, Tiger pride, LSU sports and Tiger Stadium on a Sat night. I miss it so much!! I have so many great memories from LSU and hope my girls choose to go there as well.

There is a group of 8 of us that all met at LSU and we are still all friends to this day and will be friends forever. Trying to get my husband to move back to BR bc it's my home {born and raised there for 24 yrs before moving to Austin}, but he couldn't do his job there. Maybe one day....

Geaux Tigers!!

I loved LSU too. Saturday night footballs games were the best, along with Murphys, The Chimes cheese fries, as Jennifer said - walking through the Quad, walking the lakes and meeting so many great people.
Like you Casey!! Can't believe we met in the dorm in 1993!! too crazy!
